Anal Cancer Information
Question: Can teenagers get anal cancer? I'm scared.? Can teenagers get anal cancer? What is the likelihood that an eighteen-year-old female vegan who has never smoked, never slept with anyone and never taken alcohol or drugs, would have it?
Please, any information at all would be extremely appreciated, as I am quite scared that I have this because many of my symptoms match descriptions of this cancer that I have read. (Namely the presence of a small painless pinkish soft lump, and, a few months ago, mild bleeding...)
I would just like to know how likely it would be for someone fitting the above description to get anal cancer.
Thank you very much for any help.
Answer: Um, its far more likely that what you are describing are hemmheroids. Go see your gyno and ask them to take a look (you might feel better having your gyno look instead of your reg dr).
Question: Is it possible to catch cancer through anal sex? I have an issue that is concerning me so much, that I have not been able to sleep or eat or anything. My life feels in ruins right now.
My boyfriend Todd and I have been dating for about 6 months. We started having sex about 2 months ago, and I trusted him enough where I didnt make him where a condom.
Well, about a week ago, we were taking a shower and he found a lump in his testicle. He went to the doctor and they did a biopsy and found out he has testicular cancer. So for 2 months, we have been having unprotected sex, and Im worried that everytime he ejaculated, that he put his cancer cells into my body. I dont know if I could get anal cancer or worse, it spread to my intenstines.
I have googled like crazy, went to WebMD and everything, but no answer. I am embarrassed to ask my doctor, as he is a family friend and I dont want him to tell my dad that I am gay. I guess that brings up another question, is my doctor allowed to give out my information?
Sorry to be so glum with my question. Hopefully I dont sound like an idiot. Its really scaring me, and I am trying to be strong for Todd during his crisis, but I need to make sure Im not going to have a crisis of my own. Thanks in advance for any answers.
Answer: Anal sex increases your risk of anal cancer, which is caused by HPV infection. HPV infection is very common, and condoms do not protect you. Unless you were virgins and never had any kind of sexual contact, you both probably already had HPV before starting this relationship.
His testicular cancer has absolutely NOTHING to do with the increased cancer risk associated with anal sex.
Question: Please Help me.I dont know how to explain this to my parents.? Please Help me.I really need help..

Answer: You do not mention having fevers, weight loss, weakness, or night sweats so you are missing typical symptoms of cancer.
Seventeen year olds do not get anal cancer. Most likely you have piles or hemorrhoids or possibly a fissure, all of which are very common at all ages. I guarantee you that an inflamed external hemorrhoid might look like a cancer to someone who has never seen either before. If you had anal cancer you would not be able to see it (since this cancer is located inside the anal canal) and if you could see it you would already be bedridden because you would be so ill. A Dr appointment will confirm what I am telling you and should cost less than 100 bucks even if you do not have insurance. The school nurse might even be a no cost health resource option.
In the meantime sit your butt in some hot water 2-3 times daily and soak for 15 minutes and also use some preparation H 2 or 3 times daily and I'm guessing your anal cancer will be healed before your Dr appointment ever arrives.
Also add lots of fiber to your diet - bran flakes, raisins, apples, etc, eaten daily and also drink lots of water every day. Very poor American diet habits give most people hemorrhoids so lay off the junk food and get back to being regular.
Question: Questions concerning HPV...? I was diagnosed with HPV-the type that can become cervical cancer. I had my precancer cut out but what about if you get pregnant? Can you pass this on to your child if you don't have a C-section? Also I have heard that this can also cause anal cancer and vocal cord cancer. Has anyone heard this or have any more information on this?
Well I heard about the anal cancer from Dr. Drew on talk sex with Sue...and then I heard about the vocal cord thing on my local news. A older man couldn't hardly talk because he had tumors on his vocal cords and the doctor said it was caused by the same virus that causes cervical cancer in women.
Answer: HPV is RARELY spread to a baby during birth. This only happens when the mother is currently having an outbreak of genital warts and the baby comes into contact with them as it is coming through the birth canal. It is very RARE for this to happen and if it is a concern a C-section delivery can be preformed which would completely eliminate the risk of spreading HPV to the newborn. A baby that is exposed to HPV very rarely develops warts in the throat or voice box.
HPV can also cause anal cancer, but again, this is rare.
The main concern with HPV is the cervical cancer it can cause for women. 10,000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer last year in the US alone. Of those 10,000 women, about 4,000 of them will die from their cervical cancer.
Take care!

Do you think this should be required information for all families?
For those of you that have jumped on the negative bandwagon, all of this information has been well documented in medical journals. I did both with my twins, breast and bottle.
On alcohol they have warnings because it is a dangerous substance, so is formula. It is undeniable that it kills 1.5 million children per year. WIC in many states is having people sign an informed consent with this information. I am just seeing what others think.
If you don't agree with facts you don't have to be rude.

Answer: I think informed consent for use of infant formula is a good idea. I don't think the information you've posted in your question is defensible, however.
Question: does a pap smear show if i have hpv or genital warts? Its crazy because my husband showed me sum bumps he had around his anal. At the time i didnt think anything of it but then i checked on the internet and i looked at pictures of stds. They looked like genital warts. He went to the doctor and sure enough the doctor said they were genital warts. I had gone to get my physical done a week before and the next day i got my results. Everything was clear and my pap result was normal. I told the nurse what my husband had and she just said she would send me information on genital warts.. But shouldn't she had told me to come in so i can get rechecked for hpv?
this is so confusing. Does this mean he will get cancer later on in life?
they told me to to get a hpv test and a hpv vaccine(will this vaccine protect me from my husband)
and can i get this at any ob-g??
Answer: I have some information that may be helpful to you. Check out this website -- http://www.cdc.gov/std/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm I hope it helps answer the many questions you have.
