Bone Cancer Stages
Question: what are the medical food that are best suited for a stage four bone cancer patient? my grandmother is having a bone cancer stage four and i want her to live for a long period of time. pls answer my question.
Answer: Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I had breast cancer. I change my diet by eat mostly raw food. 80% raw foods and 20% regular foods and exercising. I lost over 60 pounds. Nothing is 100% but some changes might help keep cancer in remission. I also believe in alternative therapy. Check out books, websites or healthfood store on cancer alternatives. If you can afford it or have good insurance, there are cancer clinics in Mexico, Calififornia etc. That can help your grandmother.
No single food or food substances can protect you against cancer. But scientists believe that the right combination of foods in a predominantly plant-based diet may. Evidence is mounting that the minerals, vitamins and phytochemicals in plant foods interact to provide extra cancer protection. This concept is called synergy.
Here is a list of foods we at AICR get asked about most often.
Beans
Berries
Cruciferous Vegetables
Dark Green Leafy Vegetables
Flaxseed
Garlic
Grapes and Grape Juice
Green Tea
Soy
Tomatoes
Whole Grains

Question: bone cancer? i found out a guy i know has stage four bone cancer. can someone explain this? i don't know much about the 'stages'. and evidently, he only recently found out.
Answer: Our bones are made up of basicly two parts; a hard outer casing and an inner, soft spongelike marrow. Bone cancer can arise anywhere in the bones, and in anybone in thebody but usually in the long bones i.e femur or the vertebre of the spine. It's a multiplication of cells within the bones. The stages you refer to give an indication of how advanced the cancer is or, in otherwords, the extent to the size or spread of the tumour. For instance, stage 1 is a contained tumour, stage 2 is an undifined tumour which may have intergrated into it's surroundings, stage 3 is a tumour which has infiltrated it's surrounding and stage 4 is a tumour that has infiltrated and gone beyond the local barriers of the tissue it's growing in, stage 5 is a tumour that had metastisised to another area. The lower the stage of the tumour the more likely a complete recovery will be made but please do not dispair and different cases have different outcomes and there is still plenty we can do to help your friend. Hope this clears things up a little.
Question: how to survive a bone cancer stage four? what are your aside suggestions aside from chemo therapy?
Answer: If a person is at Stage-IV, I'd only suggest chemo (or another strong treatment) because at that point...you're a gonner if you don't do something drastic and "give it hell."
Question: How long can a person live with Stage 4 cancer, from breast cancer that metastasized to the bone? My mom has a stage 4 cancer. She found out she has breast cancer stage 1, 8 years ago. Around year 2000. Then this year her breast cancer has metastasized to the bone on her chest. And is now stage 4. Does anyone now if my mom can still live a long life? I'm really saddened by this but i'm making the most of every day i spend with her.
She's 43 years old
Answer: Hi there,
I know exactly how you are feeling. My mother was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, that also spread to two different spots in her bones. She first went for radiation for her bones (5 treatments)...Once she completed that - she went for 6 chemo treatments. Her first treatment was the worst - but they adjusted her meds and each treatment after that was ok.
She also tested positive for the HER2 gene, so she goes for the Herceptin treatment every 3 weeks, as well she gets a bone strengthener the same day through IV.
I know that it sounds like a lot - but she was diagnosed in July of 2008, and we have just found out that she is CANCER FREE...
Miracles happen - Just be there to support your mom...

Question: When someone has cancer in the last stages does it make them mean and do they start to make up things? My father -in- law has prostate /bone cancer and is in the last stages. He has become so mean that no one can handle being around him. He has always been very hard to get along with but now it is impossible because he makes things up all the time about members of the family and tells everyone what to do. I mean this is really extreme he even threatened to kill one of them because she drove on the road he had said not to drive on. He was not joking when he said it. Now he keeps making up stories about people he doesn't even know. Oh and he is still going to work so he isn't lying in a bed being made to feel like he is useless.
Is this related to the cancer? Is the time near? What do we do to make him more comfortable and make it easier on him so he will stop saying hurtful things? He has never been nice but it is now getting out of hand. What should we do?
He is in the last stages. The doctors said. He is no longer responding to chemo, radiation or any drugs. He has to take pain meds now till the end.
Just let you all know he is not on morphine.
I show him more than a bit of compassion. That is why I have asked these questions. I wanted to know how to make him more comfortable and I wanted to know how to handle this. For the person who says "show a bit of compassion" I'm sorry that you can't see that this is what I'm trying to do here. Also maybe next time you should "show a bit of compassion" to those who are dealing with this first hand.
Answer: It is not uncommon for cancer patients to become dillusional. Towards the end, they may sometimes have a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality. My dad had brain cancer, and I know how hard it can be. My grandmother also had bone/breast cancer. She was in a lot of pain and was also very hard to deal with. At the very last stages, she often told stories of things that didn't happen and saw things that weren't there; especially with the meds.
All you can do is try to make him comfortable, try not to let his attitude get to you, and make his last days enjoyable. I know its hard to do, but you'll feel better that you did.
Question: My great grandpa was just diagnosed with stage 3 bone marrow cancer. What are his chances of living? He is about 86 and has bone marrow cancer that has spread to his kidneys. The doctors tried dialysis but unfortunately did nothing for him. They said he was too old/weak to get a transplant and on top of it all they said when they try to approach the cancer problem the kidneys are affected negatively and visa versa. What are his survival chances??Where could I go to find out more info??Please help!!!!
Answer: kasper983,
The best way to get the answers you need for cancer is to talk to an oncologist, a doctor who specializes in cancer-related illnesses. You might be able to find some good answers on the Mayo Clinic site (www.mayoclinic.com).
From my experience, stage 3 cancer is a more advanced type of cancer but not the worse. When the cancer cells spread to other organs, including lymph nodes (this is called metastasis) the chances for survival decreases.
Good luck and God bless you and your family.
Question: are there any chance in surviving bone cancer stage four? are there any treatments for this?
Answer: Yes, there surely are chemo treatments. Some may be trials. Go for it! It may not be curable but there are treatments today that enable a person with cancer to live many years with the disease.
Question: are there anyone in this world who ever survived with a bone cancer stage four? what are the chances?
Answer: Absolutely, cancer is never a death sentence.
Question: bone cancer question.? what are the chances of someone surving bone cancer stage 4?
Answer: Homeopathic Treatment for Bone Cancer :-
ARSENICUM ALBUM 200C twice a week and PHOSPHORUS 30C Three or four times a day.Keep the patients weight under observation the first signs of a cure taking place is increase in body weight.
Avoid Coffee Chocolates Mints and Red Meat while taking Homeopathic remedies. These wont interfere with the conventional medications nor give the patient any side effects or any sort of complications.

Take Care and God Bless you !
Question: What are the stages of cancer? My aunt was diagnosed with bone cancer and they said she was in her third stage of cancer.
Answer: hi,
i'm very sorry to hear about your aunt... may God touch her with His healing hands.
to answer your question..there are 4 stages of cancer.
Stage 1 usually means a cancer is relatively small and contained within the organ it started in
Stage 2 usually means the cancer is localised, but the tumour is larger than in stage 1. Sometimes stage 2 means there are nearby lymph nodes that have cancer cells in.
Stage 3 usually means the cancer is larger and there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes in the area
Stage 4 means the cancer has spread from where it started to another body organ, such as the liver, bones or lungs
take care
Question: Question about stage 4 bone cancer? My wife's grandfather was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer a few months ago. He is in his late 60s. He is confined to a wheel chair from a previous accident, but up until a about 5-6 years ago he was very active (wheel chair tennis, gardening, etc). But now he is in bad shape. He can barely sit up for more than a couple of hours, is on morphine patches, and says the ONLY thing that relieves any of his pain is smoking marijuanna. He has gone from about 250lbs to about 140lbs, and the doctors say he should be dead already! I guess my question is........how does this end? When the end comes will it be quick? Or will he slowly slip away painfully over the course of a couple of hours or even days? Will we get a phone call from the hospital that we're losing him and to hurry and get down there? Or will we get a phone call that he's already gone?
Answer: Having lost a girlfriend to bone cancer that grew from breast cancer and became terminal some eight years later, I can tell you that each person has their own cancer and we all pass according to our will and our god's plan. I strongly suspect that under a typical course of events, you might have clues to tell you the end is near. I would recommend that all of you have their personal moment to say farewell, and also that you view it as a celebration of his life while you grieve all you need to. He will need you to help him through and you will need his presence to teach you how to let go of life, not of love.
My girlfriend no longer responded to narcotic painkillers within the last two months and she actually quit smoking a month before she died. She became frantic and delirious during the last five days, alternately knowing me and not recognizing me, loving me and hating me, all very confusing and scary at first. She could not be dressed, fed or cared for as she violently flailed about, theatening to hurt the nurses taking care of her and in the end she was tranquilized to protect everyone including her. The nurses in that nursing home were compassionate angels and left me to wail, bawl, beg, plead, scream and hit the lowest point I'd ever known and talk to her all I needed to.
Will you have the same experiences? Every person deals with another's coming death in their own way. That's why I'd suggest celebrating the life even as it ends. There's no guarantee for anything in life. Just make sure you have resolved the notion no matter how it hurts, as it will hurt but maybe less if you do. You have no assurance he can wait for you. Perhaps you should hold a vigil in shifts so one of you can relate the moment to the rest.
Mercy be yours in the hours of trial.
Question: I just found out my uncle has bone cancer.. is stage 2 bad? I am not familiar with cancer.....
how far ahead is stage 2?!?!?!
Answer: It's not great news. It should be a or b though.
Stage 2 bone cancer is high grade, but has not spread to lymph nodes or any other body organ.
Stage 2A means the cancer is still completely within the bone where it started. Your doctor may call this an intracompartmental cancer.
Stage 2B cancers have grown through the wall of the bone into nearby tissues. Your doctor may call this an extracompartmental cancer. This just means it has grown out of the 'compartment' where it started.
Hopefully major organs [liver, lungs, brain] are spared and lymph nodes.
It also depends on the size type of cancer he had to get bone cancer -
Be supportive - positive and do small things you know he'd enjoy (for him or his family) dinners, favorite author of books.. a card in the mail.
Question: how bad is stage 3 bone cancer? my cousin has just been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer he is about 40 some years old
Answer: Treatment for bone cancer depends on the stage and location of the disease, and on the patient's age and general health. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, and in many cases, a combination of treatments is used.
STAGE 3 BONE CANCER -
This is bone cancer of any grade that has spread to other bones or another body organ. The most common area for bone cancer to spread is the lungs. The second most common area for it to spread is to other bones.
Stage III bone cancer is considered as secondry tumor include metastatic tumors which have spread from other organs, such as the breast, lung, and prostate. Metastatic tumors more frequently involve the axial skeleton than the appendicular skeleton. Tumors which originate in the soft tissues may also secondarily involve bones through direct invasion.
It is a difficult situation to manage and the prognosis of this cancer is about 1 to 3 years subject to the patient's tolerating the treatments. Best of luck -
Question: what is the life expectancy of stage 4 bone cancer?
Answer: All people with cancer are individuals, so there is no way to accurately predict what you are asking. You give very little information. What type of bone cancer are you dealing with. What is the age of the patient and their overall health. All of these issues will factor into survival.
There are survivors for all stages and types of cancer, including stage IV bone cancer. So, it is impossible to guess what the life expectancy will be for an individual who is fighting stage IV bone cancer. Especially if the patient responds to treatment.
Question: how long does someone live after stage four of bone cancer treatment seems to be working? my girl freind has been told she has bone cancer the doctor has been treating her for sinus and eye infection for two years they have done blood work all that time and in febuary they said that she has cancerstage four she has had radiation around her eye she had three weeks of treatment they are now giving her a procret shot once a week untill her blood count goes up they are also giving her zometa she has had two shots already and has two more to go if this works they say that she won't have to do chemo so what are the chances of survival
Answer: If they are talking about her NOT having chemo her chances are very good indeed .Best of luck.
