Brain Cancer Symptoms
Question: What are some symptoms of brain cancer? THIS QUESTION IS FOR ANY DOCTORS OUT THERE OR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN TO MEDICAL SCHOOL!
What has been happening to me:
I am confused a lot of the time and mixing up words
My hair has been coming out very easily
I have been forgetting EVERYTHING!
I have lost some recent memories
I have been having migraines that have been so bad I have had to go to the emergency room, becasue they make me pass out!!!
Cancer runs in my family and several people have died from it!
What should I do and do you think I have brain cancer?
Answer: As someone who has the experience of brain cancer PLEASE go to a doctor ASAP!!! My husband who never had headaches suddenly started getting very severe ones. They would be so bad he couldn't function. He couldn't speak like he use to. He had a major loss of coordination. He also started drinking ALOT to mask the pain. Also his blood pressure shot up. This is what ended up sending him to the hospital. I tried to get him to go when the headaches started but he wouldn't. It took 2 months from the point they started to the day he went to the hospital. He had surgery to remove the tumor that they could get to 2 days after being admitted. He then started radiation and chemo. It has been almost 3 years since this happened. PLEASE go to the doctor. Don't wait.I'm not a doctor I just know what my husband has been through and his signs. It's better to go and find out it isn't cancer and maybe just stress related than to not go and get alot worse.
Question: brain cancer symptoms ? im a hypocondriac i search every disease but anyways i have 3 symptoms of brain cancer out of 36 its nausea, feeling ill and fever so do u think i have cancer
mr hex vision im a guy not a girl
Answer: No, you're a hypochondriac. I have brain cancer and those of us who do, don't need a bunch of complainers thinking (or pretending) that every little thing is brain cancer. I had NONE of those symptoms.
Question: What are symptoms for brain cancer and blood clots in the brain? Because, for a while now i've been waking up feeling like my head has alot of pressure on it and that im going to chuck, as the day goes on it goes away a little bit but if i get a little bit active all the same stuff comes back.... is this something i should be worried about?
On top of all that im only 16 (17 in less than 2 days)
Thanks in advance
Answer: It sounds like a sinus pressure headache. Try taking a decongestant pain reliever tablet that contains pseudoephedrine and acetaminophen. You may have allergies to something in your home, or a seasonal allergy that's making your sinuses congested. If the decongestant makes you feel better, try taking an over-the-counter allergy medication, the 12-hour kind, and see if the headaches go away.
Waking up with a headache can also be a symptom of high blood pressure. You're only 17, so you shouldn't worry about that. It can also be a sign that you have a sleep disorder like sleep apnea. If taking a decongestant doesn't help your headache, then it's time to see a doctor.
Because of your age, I would not suspect a brain tumor or an aneurysm, unless you have a very strong family history of stroke, blood clots, or cancer at an early age. You should consider more common and mundane causes for your headaches first.
Question: What are symptoms of cancer in the brain?? Im having symptoms of cancer in the brain but I dont know for sure.Can you give me specific symptoms.And can a person tell if I have brain cancer.
Answer: Don't let Yahoo Answers diagnose your symptoms. Consult a professional.
Question: what are the symptoms for brain cancer? Isn't nausea one of them?
just asking 'cause I'm 19 and I all-of-a-sudden had a bout of nausea that seemed linked to certain psychological states (ideas of sex or eating for instance would make me feel nauseous). I'm a little nervous but oh well, I'm prepared to die, but is it true that your whole intellect is eaten away by a tumor?
Answer: The signs and symptoms of a brain cancer (tumor) vary greatly and depend on the brain tumor's size, location and rate of growth.
General signs and symptoms caused by brain tumors may include:
* New onset or change in pattern of headaches
* Headaches that gradually become more frequent and more severe
* Unexplained nausea or vomiting
* Vision problems, such as blurred vision, double vision or loss of peripheral vision
* Gradual loss of sensation or movement in an arm or a leg
* Difficulty with balance
* Speech difficulties
* Confusion in everyday matters
* Personality or behavior changes
* Seizures, especially in someone who doesn't have a history of seizures
* Hearing problems
* Hormonal (endocrine) disorders-
Question: Cancer,symptoms when it spreads to the brain? What are the symptoms when someone has cancer and it goes to their brain?
Answer: My mom was admitted on 1/1/08 because of severe pain and nausea. They performed a CAT scan and found out that her cancer has metasticized to her menenges (outermost area of the brain) and spine. Her pain and nausea progressively got worse over the last 2-3 weeks of 2007.
As a side note, the MRI from early December showed nothing.
Question: Brain Cancer? If my hair is falling out is that a symptom of brain cancer, or could something else be causing it? When i take a shower and wash my hair about 4 strands of hair come out on my hand, is that normal?
I am only 23 and i dont wear a hat either or use hair gel
Answer: No, you don't have brain cancer. You have hypochondria.
Question: How long does it take to diagnois a brain tumor/cancer? Hi I am doing a report about brain tumors and brain cancer and I am wondering how long the diagnois proccess takes. I know the symptoms of each and I know the first step they take, which is giving a CT scan to look at the brain, but how long do the symptoms of brain cancer/tumor last, and how long does it take to diagnois?? Thanks for the help!!
Answer: I had it too easy the whole time mine was growing. I never had migraines, or any balance issues. I had a tingly arm that would come and go, for almost 2 yrs. That shoulder had been injured years ago, so I thought it was just a pinched nerve. Then the last few months I had a "funny" feeling in the pit of my stomach. (the aura). I also had a strong sense of deja vu a few times. Then the last week in aug 08, I had a migraine that lasted a couple hours. It went away and I got up and went to work. My boss fussed at me for coming in because I was "out of it." I didn't realize that though. I was off the next day and I was fine. Thought I was coming down with a bug or something. The next day, friday, I went to work and was fine for a few hours, I thought. Then I started feeling odd and got someone to go outside with me. My face was going numb and I had trouble forming my words. By the time I got outside, I couldn't speak. My boss called 911 and they kept asking me what drugs I was taking! I was saying dayquil in my head but it wouldn't come out! My sugar was low, so they tried to give me OJ and when I put the straw in my mouth, I started seizing. I don't remember the ambulance ride, so they must've given me something. First hospital, ct scan. They contacted a teaching hospital 3 hours away and took me there, knocked out. Mri there confirmed tumor and I was operated on 2 days later. That was a monday and I was home on friday. Back to hospital 2 weeks later to get sutures out and that's when I was told it was cancer, oligoastrocytoma grade 3. Went through the standard treatment of chemo/radiation for 6 weeks. Then 6 months of temodar. Mris every 2 months.

Question: If u don't mind, would u tell me the symptoms of brain cancer?My big thanks 4 u!!?
Answer: brain tumor is any intracranial tumor created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division, normally either in the brain itself (neurons, glial cells (astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, ependymal cells), lymphatic tissue, blood vessels), in the cranial nerves (myelin-producing Schwann cells), in the brain envelopes (meninges), skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). Primary (true) brain tumors are commonly located in the posterior cranial fossa in children and in the anterior two-thirds of the cerebral hemispheres in adults, although they can affect any part of the brain.
Although there is no specific clinical symptom or sign for brain tumors, slowly progressive focal neurologic signs and signs of elevated intracranial pressure, as well as epilepsy in a patient with a negative history for epilepsy should raise red flags. However, a sudden onset of symptoms, such as an epileptic seizure in a patient with no prior history of epilepsy, sudden intracranial hypertension (this may be due to bleeding within the tumor, brain swelling or obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid's passage) is also possible.
Symptoms include phantom odors and tastes. Often, in the case of metastatic tumors, the smell of galvanised vulcan rubber is prevalent

Answer: Lyme disease can cause the same symptoms and is a lot more common than brain cancer. So that's something to consider as well. And most people never notice a tick bite or rash.

Question: what is typically the first symptom(s) of brain cancer? I'm only 19 but brain cancer affects everyone and I just want to be safe.
Answer: Symptoms from brain cancer will vary, depending on where the tumor is. Sometimes it may cause problems with balance, speech, double vision, memory, behavior. Having headaches may not necessarily mean you have brain cancer. If you are concerned, talk to your doctor about the symptoms you may be having. If anything, it will put your mind at ease.
Question: Is it true that migraine can lead to brain cancer or is it a symptom of a sickness? I use this drug, IMIGRAN, whenever I get episodes of migraine.
What drug do you normally use to eliminate the pain?
I have two personal doctors and both of them specializes in cancer.
I have two personal doctors and both of them specialize on cancer in general.
Answer: Don't worry, migraine doesn't lead to brain cancer. ^_^ when I get bouts of it, I usually just take 10mg of Propranolol.
It is also not a symptom to anything, since migraine is a entirely different condition in itself. Sometimes though, it is spurred by worsening eyesight.

Question: Does my dad have brain cancer? This morning my dad woke up at 3 am and when to the bathroom. When he was done he had a dizzy headache (as he described it) and couldn't walk at all. His father had died about 5 years ago from brain cancer, is this a symptom of brain cancer?
Answer: I had (have) brain cancer and many symptoms were dismissed as they didn't seem severe or to correlate with any health issues. Frequently, I had low blood sugar, so would have mild dizzy spells. After I would eat something, the dizziness went away. I didn't have hardly any of the "usual" brain tumor symptoms. If this consistently happens to your dad, it could be, but it's not something that's common. Brain cancer doesn't really run in families, so the odds are with your dad. Best luck to him.
