Question: Best Breast Cancer Center in Philadelphia or Baltimore? I was just diagnosed with breast cancer & live in the MD/DE/PA area and would like to find the best cancer center in the area. I know there are quite a few in Baltimore & Philly and have no clue where to go? Also wondering the difference between a Cancer Center & a Comprehensive Cancer Center?

Answer: Obviously the "big gun" here is Johns Hopkins. They are a comprehensive cancer center and one of the top hospitals in the country. With that said, I chose not to be treated there. It is a large teaching hospital. Its reputation is that you are treated like a number. I have known women who WORK at Hopkins who chose to be treated elsewhere. I can wholeheartedly recommend Greater Baltimore Medical Center for treatment. They actually treat more breast cancer patients than Hopkins. Their oncology staff is excellent. Truly first class. They will use the latest protocols and they treat you like you matter. You will feel safe and cared for as a person. I would trust any of their oncologists to treat me (but of course, I like my own best of all ...).

Answer: YES! Cuz what if I came down with it? I would want it cured! Just put your self in the shoes of the women who have breast cancer! Guys.. imagine like penis cancer...

Question: is it possible for breast cancer lumps to be under the arm pit, right in the center? I feel like im being too paranoid but both sides of my arm pits are aching in pain, where i felt these two lumps on each side. Its in the center of my arm pit, im either getting two huge pimples or else im frwaking out, im also 30 weeks pregannt with my second, does maybe something have to do with it.. can i getsomeone to check for me.

Answer: Although nobody here in YA has the accurate diagnosis for any medical situation~ one can only be advised based upon others personal experiences or knowledge related to similar situations. So always keep that in mind! I personally suspect you are feeling enlarged lymph nodes within the armpit area you specifically mention. Lymph nodes are our bodies way to fight off germs etc naturally, they become tender & enlarged while doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Ever recall having a doctor 'palpate' areas around/under your jaw line,down your throat/neck area then under the arms...they are using enlarged lymph glands to assist in their diagnosis. Answer: Hands down MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, USA. Contrary to a previous poster MD Anderson was rated top in the United States for the second year in a row.

Question: Is it possible to have a tumor in your breast without it being breast cancer? My mother recently found a small tumor-like growth under the skin towards the center of her chest on her breast. I'm really worried that its cancer but she won't go to the doctor! Is it possible for it to just being a "harmless tumor" like she says it is? Please help, I've never had to deal with anything that has to do with cancer and I'm really worried!

Answer: It could just be a cyst, and I have had one of those. I had it checked out just to make sure. But if it is cancer and your mom does not get it checked out to be sure, then she might as well start making her will out. My mom kept putting off going to the doctor and when she finally agreed to go see the doctor on Monday, she died that Sunday night. If she won't do it for herself, ask her to do it for you.
