Last year my husband and I set up and ran a haunted house in our garage/basement and the turnout in our town was tremendous. Strictly from advertising in with local signs on the side of the road we had over 1000 people on Halloween night. We would like to do this on a higher level and rent out a space in town and do it as a nonprofit business. How do you get grants and things to start up a nonprofit, can I go directly to the companies that we will be allocating the funds too or what?

Answer: Go to your local tax office and fill out the forms to be tax exempt. They can tell you there and give you a booklet that gives the criteria to be tax exempt.

Question: Breast Cancer? I'm 17 and a senior at highschool and a student at the School of Nursing and I'm a huge advocate for Breast Cancer research and support. I'm always wearing my pink ribbon and my pink ribbon necklace and I have many breast cancer/pink ribbon clothing articles. Since it's breast cancer awareness month I tried to see what my community//county and surronding cities are doing to support...........and I found out...completely nothing. At the highschool football games I take donations and sell pink ribbons. I'm getting some pretty positive responses from this but I need more.
