Breast Cancer Symptoms
Question: Are there symptoms to breast cancer that are not breast related? Many other cancers have symptoms like nausea, pain, tiredness, bleeding, headaches, etc. Are there symptoms that are common but non-breast related to breast cancer?
Answer: The symptoms of possible breast cancer are
change in size - one breast may have become noticeably larger or lower
nipple change - if it becomes inverted (pulled in) or changes its position or shape
rash - on or around the nipple
discharge - from one or both nipples
puckering or dimpling - around nipple
swelling – in your armpit or around your collarbone (from lymph nodes)
lump or thickening - that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue
All symptoms are breast or underarm related unless the cancer has spread to other parts of the body - typically the brain, liver, bones or lungs - in which case there may well be other symptoms.
But most cases of breast cancer are diagnosed before this has had a chance to happen. Nausea, tiredness etc are not breast cancer symptoms.
Most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain, but some do - I did.
Question: Breast Cancer symptoms other than the ones that revolve around the breasts themselves? is there any symptoms for example vomiting or sickness?
ect can you give me all of them?
i know the symptoms that revolve around the breasts themselves but is there any others that dont?
Answer: There are some common non-specific symptoms that can occur in any cancers, especially in a later stage with spread.
Generalized symptoms include tiredness, significant weight loss, poor appetite, low grade fever, and lymph nodes felt. In breast cancer, lower neck nodes and axillary (armpit) nodes are more common.
Other symptoms depend on where the cancer has spread to, e.g. bone pain and pathological fractures if to the bone; breathlessness and coughing up blood if to the lungs; severe headache and neurological symptoms if to the brain; abdominal swelling and ache, and poor liver function if to the liver.

Question: Is it possible to have Breast Cancer symptoms for a long long time like 2 years without anything else changing This is for a research essay. Please & thanks.
If u have any good sites please post them too.
Answer: I'm not quite sure what the question is...my sister in law had a large lump show up on her mammo 3 years ago...it didn't look suspicious so the doctor suggested mammos every 6 months to look for changes....it never seemed to change. Then I found out I had breast cancer and it scared her so she insisted on a biopsy and it turned out her lump was cancer all along. She has mammo films of it taken at 6 month intervals for 3 years. She had no symptoms. Her tumor was very slow growing. I had symptoms--weird pains, zinging shooting pains, swollen breast--and mine was fast growing probably had only been there for a few months.

Question: How were you diagnosed with recurrence of breast cancer? Symptoms? How did you tell your loved ones? Did you also have to tell them that it had spread?
Answer: My cancer is not breast, so I cant give you the symptoms to look for, but I did have a recurrance. I was diagnosed during a routine check up.
Basically, you cant worry about how they will take it. You need to just straight up say, the cancer came back, it has spread, and this is what I am considering for treatment.
I know it is easier said than done, but thats what you have to do. You cant sit around worrying about how others will take the news, or worry about how to tell them tactfully or worry about them being upset. You have to just say it flat out.
If you dont feel you can handle a mushy gooy crying session with the family, tell them over the phone or email and make it quick. I know it sucks for the family, as it is what I did. However, it was much better for me that way.
My aunt happened out of chance to be with me. I was going to wait to tell my sig other until he got home from out of town, but couldnt. I called him immediatly, and did have a good crying session. And then I called my mom, had a 5 minute conversation, and let her handle telling everyone else.
Maybe thats heartless of me, but like I keep saying through this post, you cant worry about everyone else's feelings right now, only yours.
Question: What are the symptoms of breast cancer? When you get a lump,,is it like inside the breast or does it pop out like a pimple kinda?
and besides lumps what are other symptoms?
Answer: Early breast cancer may have no symptoms at all; the following are the signs and symptoms of possible breast cancer:
change in size - one breast may have become noticeably larger or lower
nipple change - if it becomes inverted (pulled in) or changes its position or shape
rash - on or around the nipple
discharge - from one or both nipples
puckering or dimpling - around nipple
swelling – in your armpit or around your collarbone (from lymph nodes)
lump or thickening - that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue - but remember that most breast lumps are not cancerous
No, breast lumps aren't like pimples, they are inside the breast, though they can sometimes be seen - I could see a slight swelling where mine was.
Question: what are the symptoms of breast cancer and what are the consequences? i do have a small lump on the lower part of my breast im rily scared and once after masturbation had pain around that area too....do i need a check??please help
Answer: Hi...
What to Expect From Breast Cancer Radiation Therapy by Carolyn J. Higgins
Radiation therapy is carried out using a large machine called a linear accelerator. The machine delivers a minute quantity of high-energy radiation which kills the cancerous cells. The radiation causes only the absolute minimal damage to skin tissue and stop cancer cells from reproducing. Radiation therapy has shown to vastly improve survival rates in women with breast cancer.
Obesity and the Risk of Breast Cancer by MC Ezzia
Preventing overweight and obesity could potentially be a factor to lower levels of breast cancer risk. Many factors contribute to obesity including genetics, behavior, environment, and culture. However, recent agreement is that the continuing epidemic shows to stalk from current alterations in our environment encouraging overeating and discouraging physical activity. Surplus calories used but not applied eventually cause weight gain.
The Role of Oncologist For Breast Cancer by MC Ezzia
An oncologist is a medical doctor who trains in the diagnosis and also treatment of cancer. If a radiologist identifies breast cancer, a woman might be referred to an oncologist for treatment. Medical oncologists concentrate in the use of chemotherapy and other drugs to care for cancer. Radiation oncologists focus in the usage of x-rays and other radiation techniques to eradicate tumors.

Question: what are symptoms of breast cancer? A week ago my left breast was hurting like aching. Now its both of them. I am very tired and sleeping more than normal. Could this be symptoms of breast cancer? I have felt no lumps or knots or anything. I feel like I felt when I was pregnant, but I was just on my period last week and I have not had sex with my husband since then because I have not felt good. I did miss some birth control pills but I took extra, I am still one behind, but again I still had my period last week.
Answer: Pain is rarely an indication of breast cancer; most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain.
And the fact that the pain is in both breasts makes it even less likely that this is breast cancer.
You don't give your age, but the fact that you are young enough to need birth control means you are much younger than most people who develop breast cancer - it's mainly a disease of ageing and 80% of those diagnosed are over 50; the average age at diagnosis is a little over 60.
I agree with Tarkarri; the fact that you have foolishly taken extra birth control pills will have caused this hormonal reaction.
Question: Breast Cancer Symptoms? What are the most common breast cancer symptoms in women?
Answer: a lump - call you doctor if you even THINK you might have a chance of having it - early detection is the only way to survive it!!!!
Question: Are these symptoms of Inflammatory Breast Cancer? I found a boil under my breast a few days ago. It came to a head today but about 2 days ago I noticed that the skin under my breast was thick. I know that this is one of the symptoms of IBC but a nurse told my mom it was soft tissue damage but that just seems odd for boil to do something like that.
By the way breast cancer runs in my family.
Answer: Less than 10% of breast cancers are hereditary and only 1% of all breast cancers are inflammatory. Have you had multiple family members with inflammatory breast cancer? This would be very unusual, but if you have your local teaching hospital would be interested in following you and your family and this would give you the best possible screenings.
However, it is more likely that you do not have a hereditary breast cancer in your family and if you are young enough that your mother went with you on a doctors appointment it is doubtful you have breast cancer. The chance of getting breast cancer at 25 years old is 1 in every 20,000. From 15-19 years old it is 1 in every million then for it to be a rare cancer on top of that……you can see how unlikely this is.
Question: What are some symptoms of breast cancer? Im fifteen, and i may be overreacting.
but i have a lump on my breast, and ive been getting really dizzy lately. i dont have much of an appetite anymore.. but im just worried .
what are some common symptoms of breast cancer??
Answer: At your age the chances of having breast cancer are very close to zero.
It's mainly a disease of ageing - 80 per cent of those diagnosed with it are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and almost unheard of in under 25s.
Most breast lumps - even in women over 50 - are not cancerous. Your breasts are still growing and developing, and what you describe is almost certainly hormonal.
The American Cancer Society and other cancer organisations recommend that women start routine breast self-examination at the age of 20.
Dizziness and loss of appetite are NOT symptoms of breast cancer. (As you have little appetite, it could be that you are getting dizzy because you're not eating enough.)
I'm not going to list the symptoms of possible breast cancer, because it's pretty much irrelevant at your age. But you should see a doctor about your loss of appetite and dizzy spells, and while you are there tell him/her about your breast lump (if it's still there) so that s/he can reassure you
Question: What exactly do the symptoms of breast cancer look like? I have seen pictures and stuff, but nothing matches what im looking for. So please give a picture or something :) I;d really appreciate it!
Answer: you may feel a lump (most common...especially near nipple or in upper outer quadrant), may have nipple discharge, may have inversion of a nipple (when the other nipple isnt), may have tightening of skin of breast, discoloration of the breast, breast skin that looks like an orange peel (very, very bad sign)
Question: Breast Cancer? Hello, Im 16, and I know this is an off topic for someone my age, but i need to know about breast cancer symptoms. Ive been reading up on it, and im slightly worried i might have some form of it. There are large knots in both my breasts, nipple inversion, occasional discharge (like milk). I just dont know if the knots and hardness are something that is normal in breasts? Both of the knots are larger than golf balls (probably more like tangerines?), and lately ive been feeling extremely tired and ill. Im just worried, thats all.
Answer: It is extremely rare for someone as young as you are to have breast cancer - it's a disease largely associated with ageing, 80% of people diagnosed are over 50.
Your nipples may be naturally inverted - it is a possible symptom of possible breast cancer only when a nipple changes to become inverted - and the 'knots' may be perfectly normal, especially as they are the same in both breasts, Many women have naturally lumpy breasts.
Feeling tired and ill aren't breast cancer symptom
Be assured it's almost certainly not cancer, but make an appointment to see your doctor to talk about the discharge and to set your mind at rest.
Question: What are the early signs/symptoms of breast cancer? I noticed 2 pea sized like stones in the area between my underarm and my breast and then I noticed the lymph nodes are super swollen, but none of it hurts at all when its touched.
Answer: Early breast cancer may have no symptoms at all.
The possible signs and symptoms of breast cancer are:
change in size - one breast may have become noticeably larger or lower
nipple change - if it becomes inverted (pulled in) or changes its position or shape
rash - on or around the nipple
discharge - from one or both nipples
puckering or dimpling - around nipple
swelling – in your armpit or around your collarbone (from lymph nodes)
lump or thickening - that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue - but remember that most breast lumps are not cancerous
constant pain - in one part of your breast or in your armpit.
Although most breast lumps are not cancerous, ALL must be investigated. Although some cancerous breast lumps are painful (mine was) most are not. Please get yourself to your doctor as soon as you can.
Question: What is really the symptoms of breast cancer? I just wanted to know these early signs because I know it would help.
Answer: Early breast cancer usually has no symptoms at all. The signs and symptoms of possible breast cancer are:
change in size - one breast may have become noticeably larger or lower
nipple change - if it becomes inverted (pulled in) or changes its position or shape
rash - on or around the nipple
discharge - from one or both nipples
puckering or dimpling - around nipple
swelling – in your armpit or around your collarbone (from lymph nodes)
lump or thickening - that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue - but remember that most breast lumps are not cancerous
Question: what are the symptoms of breast cancer with breast implants? my mom had breast implants for 6 months and now her left breast is giving her pain around it and she can feel a bumb-like on top of her breast.. how can we know what it is thats causing this
Answer: The best way to know what is causing the pain in your mothers breast is to go to the doctor. Some symptoms of breast cancer are: Inverted nipples (when the nipples turn inside out) , uneven breast ( look in the mirror see if your breast appear the same in shape and size, I'm not talking about for vanity reasons but for medical), bloody discharge (usually painless, but doesn't have to be so) and an orange peel appearance (when the skin texture changes and resembles that of an orange like appearance). Hope this helps.
