Cervical Cancer Surgery
Question: I have only been sexually active with my ex-girlfriend who had to have cervical cancer surgery, am I at risk? she is the only one I have been sexually active with, except for a one night stand ( in which I was not dating at the time, but did not ejaculate, sorry for the details.) I really need help, and I'm not sure what to do or if I'm at risk. And also, is HIV connected in any way to HPV? Thank you everyone for you support and help.
Answer: Cancer is not contagious, and cancer cells will not spread via bodily fluids (ie during sex.) I'm sure you are aware that men (and therefore you) don't have a cervix, but are panicky and jumping to conclusions.
Relax, you don't have cancer.
Question: whn getting laser surgery for cervical cancer, stage 0 what is the recovery time and procedure? ive researched everywhere and i cant find a typical recovery time and procedure. i dont have it but im trying to learn on my own about it, anyone have any idea?
Answer: I don't know about laser, but I had cryosurgery last year. The recovery time from that (which was disgusting, by the way) was 6 weeks.
Question: pregnancy after cervical cancer surgery? Has anyone had a LEEP procedure and cone biopsy(for pre cancer cells in cervix) and gotten pregnant after? I had a major surgery on my cervix a few years ago, but the dr said i should still be able to carry a baby. Just wondering if anyone has had this surgery and still been able to conceive?i am having a hard time
Answer: Unfortunately, the most common complication of a LEEP or a cone excision of the cervix is exactly what you're experiencing. A LEEP is a procedure that shaves large parts of the cervix off to remove the pre-cancerous portions. A cone excision does an even deeper job, removing the deeper soft tissue along with the superficial surface.
As with any surgical procedure, there is scarring afterward. The hope is that the scarring does not block the endocervical canal, where sperm needs to traverse to get to your egg.
However, a lot of people have a harder time to conceive. Even without any physiological problems, couples may take up to a year to conceive.
The standard recommendation is to try for a year. If after a year, you cannot conceive, you and your significant other should go see your physician together. He will have to first get a sperm analysis to rule out any sperm issues. At the same time, your doctor will rule out any hormone issues.
The good news if this is indeed a result of your cervical procedure is that medical fertility treatment for this is rather straightforward and easy. Basically it would involve injecting your significant other's sperm directly past the cervix into your uterus. It's not as costly as if there is a problem with the uterus or hormones.
Question: how much does cervical cancer surgery cost?
Answer: It depends on where you live, if it is in a doctor’s office or a hospital, what kind of hospital and what surgery you are having.
Question: What is the procedure and recovery time for laser surgery for stage 0 cervical cancer? I have recently been told that i need to have laser surgery and I have tried searching it on the web to find out exactly what goes on, do u feel pain, the recovery time? (all the important stuff that my ignorant doctor neglected to inform me of) and I am coming up with nothing just the same answers as its a high beam of light. So if anybody knows could u please help me out.....
Answer: www.webmd.com
Recovery will depend on you and how long it takes you to get up and move around. My hysterectomy, I was out of the hospital in 48hrs, and back to normal activity within the week.
Question: can i use aloe vera for cervical cancer after surgery before radiation? are there evidences that aloe vera destroys cancerous cells
I heard that drinking aloe vera protect the body immunity and destroys cancerous cells, what do you think, can you suggest me something else against cancer, hrbs ecc
it is T1, N1, MX, grade 3, stage 3B, FIGO 1B1, I already have drinked two bottles of Aloe , should I stop immidietly? I will have radiation after 3 weeks
I d like to ask the naturopath cause I don t have any in my area, with my details what herb should I use and where I can find it
Answer: I don't think aloe vera is going to "destroy" cancer cells. It's not quite that simple. While you are on radiation therapy it is best to not apply anything on your skin. Clean it with a damp cloth and dry.....
Question: which is the prefered treatment for cervical cancer probably stage( IB) Surgery or Radiation? We're told in Japan where we live, it's surgery while in the States where I'm from It's Radiation thereapy
Answer: I would recommend being more aggressive and going for surgery. It is VERY rare here in the UK that someone with cervical cancer would not be treated surgically (due to the fact cervical cancer can spread quite easily).
Question: will indametriosis hide cervical cancer and does stage 2 require surgery before treatment? looking for a gynocologist to answer this ? women I knew said she had it and is now cancer free 3 months later with no surgery for the breast and cervical cancer she had supposidly
Answer: Endometriosis is a painful gynecological condition, that may hide symptoms of carcinoma cervix,.. but there is more u should know- Carcinoma cervix is fairly less common than endometriosis. Not everyone with endometriosis is going to get carcinoma cervix (there is no correlation absolutely). So correlating the two hs no real benefit unless you have a very specific query
St 2 carcinoma cervix may or may not be operable that depends upon case to case,.. if it is inoperable or even borderline operable then treatment in form of Radiation Therapy is required.
Carcinoma cervix has many stages, very early stages may not require any surgery.
Question: I need help! My mom just recently went through surgery for cervical cancer...? They took everything out, her ovaries, and other things. Now she takes hormones but they make her feel bad. She says that she is really depressed. Do women really feel that bad after going through a surgery like that? I mean, her surgery was about a year ago but she says she is not the same person anymore. I just want to know if women really do feel really bad after that. The doctors told her she'd be fine but I want to to know if she's exagerating?
Answer: No, she's not exaggerating. Many women have trouble finding the right hormonal combination that works for them. Most doctors don't understand this, and just prescribe the same thing for everybody and then just blame the victim (the woman herself) for her problems, when it's really the wrong hormone combination. I very very highly recommend that your mother check out this internet discussion group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SGSM/
The advice there will help her to take charge and find the right types of hormones. There are dozens of different types, but doctors generally just prescribe Premarin, which is one of the oldest (and usually one of the worst) types to use. They also have a web page: http://surmeno.blogspot.com/2006/07/table-of-contents-by-topic.html
Please please please encourage her to go there and read the materials. This is solid information that will help her incredibly. I know exactly what she's feeling now since I went through the same thing. There's no reason for her to suffer anymore. Solutions are out there!
Question: thanks for writing me back just Little scared my mom had cervical cancer had to have surgery?
Answer: And what is your question?
Question: What are the chances of a women with cervical cancer, once treated to become pregnant and carry to term? Im reading up on it, but a friend of mine has been diagnosed with cervical cancer and goes in for surgery soon. Just thought I'd ask for your educated opinion on the chances of her being able to have children in the future. I guess it really depends on the severity, but would like some opinions.
Answer: This site gives details of cancer, the cancer industry, and some links to natural cures.

Question: Cervical Cancer? My sister got detected with very early stages of cervical cancer. The cells were just starting to develop and she will have surgery soon to remove them. How do you get any type of cancer either cervical or uteran?... is it from genes (hereditarty) or from bacteria or negligence?
Answer: Cervical cancer comes in two forms adenocarcinoma from the glands (which is rare) and squamous carcinoma.
Almost ALL squamous cell carcinomas begin as a viral infection with HPV (human papilloma virus).
There are over 120 different types of HPV of which 13 are associated with cervical cancer.
These viruses are sexually transmitted; a small number are passed from mother to child in the birth process, from direct contact with infected tissues but not in the genes.
In a normal healthy woman, the immune system is responsible for controlling these viruses, and in most people, these viruses stay dormant. When the immune system is stressed by poor nutrition, smoking, drugs, other infections and pregnancy, these viruses can express themselves.
Most express themselves as warts, which under the wrong circumstances can progress to "dysplasia". Dysplasia is probably what your sister was diagnosed-with. Dysplasia can exist for many years and still revert back to normal (and usually does) if the immune system is healthy in a young person.
However, in some individuals with the wrong type of virus and an inadequate immune system response to the virus, the dysplasia can progress to cancer. Cancer of the cervix is often deadly.
A Pap (Papanicola smear) Test is a screening test for the presence of changes in the cervical cell that represent warts, dysplasia or cancer. There is also a screening test called "colposcopy" that is usually performed in Europe instead of the Pap and is used in the US to follow an abnormal Pap smear. There is now DNA tests that can be done at the same time as the Pap looking for the more dangerous virus types.
Uterine cancer, usually means "endometrial" cancer which is a cancer of the lining of the uterus. This cancer is often the result of overstimulation of the lining with estrogen. The estrogen can be from the body (like that produced by the conversion of adrenal hormone the estrogen from extra skin, muscle and fat tissues in significantly overweight women) or inappropriately presribed estrogen (without progesterone or progestin).
I do not wish to confuse you, but neither of these cancers is hereditary, but the tendency for the cancers can run in families due to body type and immune system issues.

Question: i havent had my periodt i brake out and i just had surgery cuz of cervical cancer i spotted once for 5 min why
Answer: How long ago was the surgery? How long has you period been late? When you spotted for five minutes, how long had it been after the surgery? What kind of surgery did they do?
Seriously, if you're looking for some help, you've got to supply some information and throw in some punctuation while you're at it.
Question: UHC Supporters: How long are you willing to wait for your cancer surgery? http://www.health.gov.on.ca/transformation/wait_times/public/wt_public_mn.html#
US Population: 307,000,000
Canada Poplulation: 33,000,000
Click on Wesbite Above:
1. Click on "Wait times in your area" (left column )
2. Click on the procedure You need
3. Click on the "find my map location"
4. Click on any area
(first column is "target")
(second column is average wait time)
Examples I found:
Breast Cancer Surgery: 38 days
MRI : 105 days !!!!!!!
Angioplasty : 28 days
Brain Cancer Surgery : 57 days
Cervical Cancer : 55 days
Prostrate Cancer: 70 days
Hip Replacement Surgery: 158 days
General Surgery: 80 days
etc etc
NOW.. go look at the population numbers again
This is what happens... rationing is NOT written in the bill, but it is the INEVITABLE result of having much higher demand because it's now "free". Do you know understand why many Canadians are coming to the USA to get their procedures done ?
Now in America: It is illegal to be denied needed medical services.. just walk into an emergency room. The poor are covered under medicare/SCHIP
Answer: Great Question! The supporters don't get it.AARP is for it because they aren't paying out money for life insurance. The Ins.companies know that what you say is true and many will die before ever having the surgery they need.I truly believe the Govt. is now in the business of population control. When Baby boomers start collecting the SSI benefits then it will collapse. That is also why the Govt. devised a way to deplete retirements (Market Collapse)so that people in their seventies are forced to go back to work.
Question: How long can somebody live with cervical cancer? If somebody found out they have cervical cancer but they found out pretty early and the dotors said they can perform surgery to take it out what are the chances of it coming back and staying? if it stays how long can the person live if they go through radiation and chemotherapy?
Answer: If they have treatment they can go into complete remission
My aunt had cervical cancer, had chemotherapy, went into remission, 6 years later there's been no signs of it coming back
Good luck
Question: I have cervical cancer. Do you believe God will answer my prayers to heal me so I won't need 3rd surgery?
Answer: I will be in agreement with you for healing from God....I pray for complete healing of cervical cancer...in the name of Jesus!
