Cervical Cancer Treatment
Question: Does the treatment for cervical cancer always include chemo or radiation? Does the treatment for cervical cancer always include chemo or radiation? Can someone Just have a hysterectomy and then be in remission or do they always do the chemo and radiation after the hysterectomy?
Answer: For cervical cancer Hysterctomy is not the final treatment. Only about 10% of hysterectomies are performed to treat cancer of the cervix, ovaries, or uterus. Women with cancer in one or more of these organs almost always have the organ(s) removed as part of their cancer treatment. Total hysterectomies are usually performed in the case of uterine and cervical cancer. This is the most common kind of hysterectomy.
By doing Hysterctomy ONLY there is every possibility of cancer cells remaining in the system and they are required to be killed by Chemo and radiation therapy. So chemotherapy and radiation are very much required to be followed even after doing Hysterectomy. This is very important. -
Question: Is there a treatment in Cuba regard cervical cancer? my aunt is suffering from a cervical cancer with a tumor that has grown.to the point her organs have failed. we heard about a cancer treatment in cuba, if is true is there a way I can find any information about it. please
Answer: The US trade embargo on Cuba has made scientific communication with them difficult, if not impossible, but we do know they have a modern public health system, it is also a country with an entrenched belief in folk medicine. They do not have a special proven treatment for any type of cancer that is not available in any other country.
Also, if your aunt’s organs have failed she would not be alive to receive treatment anywhere.
Question: how long do you have pain after cervical cancer treatment?

Question: Cervical cancer treatment with least effect on fertility? I have been diagnosed with stage I cervical cancer and my doctor is recommending three treatments of chemotherapy.
I am wondering if anyone knows the treatment for cervical cancer that has the LEAST chance of affecting future fertility. I'm only 21 years old, so as you can imagine I would almost rather leave it untreated than do something that will affect future chances of having children. I'm in the process of also getting a second opinion, but it sounds like the cancer itself is very treatable, it's just the post-effects that I'm concerned about.
I've been reading that certain chemo drugs have less effect on fertility, and I'm also wondering what laser/freezing/LEEP treatments have. I would really appreciate options from anyone with knowledge in this matter. Thank you!!
Answer: Laser and freezing the cancer wont affect your feritlity some chemo does but radiation really does mess you up. Also if there is a high risk of it you can also look into egg retrival and freezing them until a later date, After the chemo treatment if you havent had surgery you can still carry a baby, so you can think about that just on the chance you are infertil, you might be able to still carry a baby of your own.
Question: Cervical Cancer Treatment - true or false? Is it true that if you get cervical cancer, you have to have 'down below' burned up and u can never have kids? Is this true? Its a well known rumor gong around my school and i wanna know once and for all
Answer: I am a survivor of cervical cancer (3 years now) They did two coning procedures which is taking pieces of the cervix out little by little. Remove enough of it and you will not be able to carry children. I had deeply invasive cancer and opted for a hysterectomy. I was given a choice to preserve fertility and have children and treat it with chemo and/or radiation. I at 36 chose to have full surgery not chancing that the cancer would spread to another organ which it would have according to my doc. I am a firm believer of the vaccine out there today. If it can save one life I believe everyone should get it. Unfortunately for me it came out a year too late. Do not listen to rumors if in doubt ask questions just like you did.
Question: What is the best hospital in Chicago for Cancer treatment? I have low grade dysplasia and HPV after having a coloposcopy and a leep procedure earlier this year. It has returned and I want to get a second opinion from a gynecological oncologst since my regular doctor is not really a specialist in this.
I haven't really paid attention until now about which Hospital is the best to go to, since they all run commercials that say they are the best according to some award or magazine article.
Which Hospitals in Chicago are the best in achieving cures in Cancer treatment, especially cervical cancer?
Answer: The University of Chicago Cancer Research Center

Question: Pregnancy after cervical cancer treatment. Possible?? Possible to get pregnant while having cervical cancer? I haven't been able to. Is it related?
Answer: This may depend on what your course of treatment was. Radiation therapy and you are unlikely to get pregnant. Chemotherapy and it depends on what drug was used. Talk to your doctor.
Question: cervical cancer? if you have cin3 how long does it take before it turns into cancer without treatment? if someone doesn't have a leep, etc. and has cin3 how long does it usually take before it turns into cancer?
Answer: I wouldn't even take a guess with this...your bodies genetics, your immune system, your age…your risk factors, what type of cell changes were found…would encompass this wild guess…
CIN 3 has a very good likelihood at progressing..some articles say as high as 40% could progress....because it is already felt that if the lesions is of this degree have been in place for some time…but some women with CIN 3 never progress to a cancer.
I am not sure why you would want to risk this progress when treatments will probably remove the abnormal cervical cell changes??
I hope you will follow your doctor recommendation...or get a second opinion...if you are not comfortable with his recommendations.
I wish you well.
Question: Cervical cancer treatment...? Ok, here's my story, I had an abnormal pap done a few years ago, ignored it and didnt have another one done until i found out i was pregnant, it came back abnormal once again but i couldn't do anything about it until after i had the baby (for obvious reasons). Now, after i had my son i had to get a biopsy done and i have two areas of abnormal cell growth and if they are left they will eventually turn into cancer. So i now have to go and get a procedure called LEEP done, where they cut the affected areas out. Has anyone ever had this done? If so does it hurt alot? What about afterwards? Need some words of encouragement please! Thanks
Answer: I have had this done. When you go in they will show you a movie about Dysphlasia { not sure if I spelled it rite but you know what i mean}and how they remove it. What will happen if they do not get it all or it comes back.I know that you are scared.I was terrified. But remeber they caught it early which means chances are they will get it all the first time. As for the Leep it's self honestly it's not fun.But they do freeze the effected area before they do it.What I found more uncomfortable was having the freezing needles put in.I had some cramping after that lasted about 3 days.I just took Motrin for it. I had to go back every 6 month for 2 years to have Biopsies taken just to be sure it did not come back. I now make sure that I never miss my pap.Good Luck if you need to talk feel free to e-mail me. Hope this helps some.
Question: how rare is it to be completely healed of cervical cancer without any treatment? cuz my gf said the docs came in with 3 tests and said it was gone....kind of a miracle?
Answer: Spontaneous remission is a real phenomena and occurs in all diseases including cancer, but it is very rare.

Question: What is the treatment for a woman with cervical cancer who is already pregnant?
Answer: Well, the type of treatment depends on what your pap smear showed. If you were diagnosed with high grade lesion, you would get a cervical biopsy to see how far the affected cells are to the basal layer of the cervix. It is usually recommended that a ECC (Endocervical curretting) is NOT done, nor anything too invasive. If you were diagnosed with a high grade lesion with the possibility of being invasive, they will probably do a cone biopsy, which is more invasive then a regular biopsy. They will take a 3D cone sized piece of cervix. This too, will let the pathologist know how invasive it is. If you have an already invasive carcinoma, then it might be a cone biopsy, then after your pregnancy, you may be looking at a hysterectomy. Also, if your cancer is glandular (not squamous), they just do the biopsies discribed above and would truly treat you after pregnancy. All of the above, are probabilites, your doctor and pathogist would have the correct recommendations.
Question: If diagnosed with cervical cancer, how long before treatment starts? My daughter-in-law has been "diagnosed" yet they keep sending her for tests. What exactly is going on? Does anyone know?
Answer: you should find out if she actually has CANCER or DYSPLASIA (pre-cancerous cells of the cervix) IDK why so many women think they are the same when they are absolutely not and the treatments are much different. dysplasia is usually followed with cervical biopsies and pap smears and treated with small procedures called a leep or cone biopsy. that would be my educated guess as to what she has. if the tests she is getting are CT scans, chest X-rays and kidney ultrasounds-it may be cancer. believe me, if she had cancer, she would be getting either radiation therapy or have had a hysterectomy by now.
Question: Are there any treatments for Cervical Cancer that doesn't invovle sugery where you will be cut? I am really afraid of going under the knife, but I don't want my cancer to spead either, what are the steps exactly. Doctors don't tell you everything you need to know at times.
Answer: Take a look at the site below which explains many misunderstood things about the cancer industry, and has some natural cures too.

Question: what are possible treatments for cervical cancer? I would like to know all possible treatments from the early stages to the later stages...as well as side effects.
Answer: I am a cervical cancer survior and the first step is to see your doctor. They can treat it with surgery to remove your cervix. I had stage 3 cervical cancer they got it.So dont wait ask your doctor about doing the surgery as soon as possible.
If you wait it could turn into overion cancer.Which is the most deadly for female.Dont be afraid to do as your doctor tells you most women do get over this type of cancer Hope you do well minnie
Question: Can you get pregnant during radiation treatments for cervical cancer?
Answer: No generally they would advise against this unless you have completed all treatment. But your oncologist will be in the best place to give you advise specific to your situation.
All the best
Question: HPV after cervical cancer? Can someone still transmit HVP after cervical cancer treatment?
Answer: Maybe. Most women revert to HPV negative status after surgery for cervical cancer. If you give them an HPV test, they will test negative.
However, they *might* still have the virus living inactively in their system. It's really hard to tell when someone will stop being contagious.
