Cervix Cancer Information
Question: laser ablation for removal of premature cancer on the cervix? Has anyone had one of these and if so can they enlighten me on what exacly they are going to do? do they numb you or put you to sleep if it's outpatient? can you get pregnant afterward? do you have to stay out of work or can you return (based off you experiences not what doctors say.) my doctor said i could return to work after both biopsies and i was in so much pain i couldn't. or if anyone can direct me to a site that has all this information that would be appreciated too. thanks yall
Answer: You poor thing.
Yes! Your cervix is a very tender spot, and it's going to be sore.
It is your choice to be put to sleep, if it is a minor surgery, where they will just go in through the vagina, then you can stay awake. But you will definately be "numb" (under anesthesia).
Pregnancy should be ok, depending on how your body reacts to the laser treatment and how much tissue is still left.
I like MayoClinic.com for all my questions.
Good luck. :)
Question: My sister got told yesterday she has high grade cancer cells...? They told her she has high grade cancer cells on her cervix. I need any information on this condition and its treatments. Does anyone know anything about it?
Answer: I believe what they told your sister, was that they were "precancerous" cells. I have had this - twice. She needs to have this taken care of right away - BEFORE they become cancerous. Gyno's have seen this type of thing very often, so your sister will be taken care of well. Just make sure she goes to all her appointments.
I first had a biopsy done to confirm the cell changes (which your sister may have already had). I was then booked in for day surgery to remove them. The difference between low grade and high grade, is how much of the cervix has been affected. High grade indicates that most of her cervix will need to be treated.
My surgery consisted of them removing all the abnormal cells. The procedure itself I was asleep for. After I woke up, I had mild cramping...nothing worse then period cramps.
Unfortunately for me...I bleed after every time I had intercourse. That went on for a year. But that was only me...all people are different.
The main thing is that your sister gets this taken care of quickly! Doctor's will not mess around with this!! All will turn out fine. Just tell her to go to all follow up appointments and stay safe!!
Question: How common is Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion ? Can someone who has had this tell me as much information as you can about Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion? I know this isn't cervix cancer but what are my chances of getting it?
Answer: It is also called SIL (early changes in the size and shape of cells of your cervix) and is generally caused by an active HPV infection. It means abnormal cells are detected and might lead to cervical cancer if left untreated. It CAN go away on it's own, but needs to be monitored. Depending on the degree of the SIL, you might need a colposcopy or a biopsy. Many women get this, and more often than not, only observation is needed. I would say your cervical cancer risk is low, but the risk IS there.
Don't neglect it however, because if your immune system is low or you are genetically predisposed, it could turn into cervical cancer. Make sure you keep any appointments with your doctor.
If at any time you notice a watery discharge, mucus, a strong smell, lesions/lumps or bleeding, book and appointment ASAP as these are signs of cervical cancer. Keep in mind, more often than not, cervical cancer is without symptoms.
Best of luck to you.
Question: My Breast Cancer has spread.......? It has spread to my liver and there are cells on my cervix. I am having trouble finding information on the web about Secondary breast Cancer to the cervix. Any help on where I can find information or any personal exp. info. would be nice. Thank You in Advance for you time.
Answer: lI have always believed that the mainstream medical industry is not interested in finding a cure for cancer because it makes too much profit with its present barbarous methods.
Eventually, I came across a detailed report which agreed with my findings, and I have included it in my web page at
http://dgwa1.fortunecity.com/body/cancer.html
By reading this report, you will also convince yourself that it is best to ignore the mainstream cancer industry, and seek alternative cures. Also you should bear in mind that the medical industry will do anything to protect its profitable position, including disparaging alternative healers or even creating bogus court cases.
I believe that cancer is a whole body thing, which in 80 percent of cases manifests itself by producing symptoms in the weaker parts of the body, and therefore appearing localised. It is this treatment of symptoms instead of cause which creates the profitable, yet non-successful approach of mainstream medicine.
Some cures are listed on the web page too.
It is therefore obvious that a holistic approach is required, based on cleansing, diet, exercise and debugging.
CLEANSING
The best way of cleansing is to fast.

but if a patient is too weak for that, or does not fancy the idea, then alternative cleanses are available.

DIET,
The best diet is vegetarian, avoiding all processed, frozen or micro-waved foods and drinks, and based on fresh fruit, fresh vegetables - preferably organic, nuts and seeds. Drinks should be clean water or freshly squeezed orange juice.
Many researchers promote the benefits of vitamin B17 as a healer. this can be found in the following foods:
Apple seeds, alfalfa sprouts, apricot kernels, bamboo shoots, barley, beet tops, bitter almond, blackberries, boysenberries, brewer’s yeast, brown rice, buckwheat, cashews, cherry kernels, cranberries, currants, fava beans, flax seeds, garbanzo beans, gooseberries, huckleberries, lentils, lima beans, linseed meat, loganberries, macadamia nuts, millet, millet seed, peach kernels, pecans, plum kernels, quince, raspberries, sorghum cane syrup, spinach, sprouts (alfalfa, lentil, mung bean, buckwheat, garbanzo), strawberries, walnuts, watercress, yams.
A commercial preparation of B17 is available called Laetrile.
EXERCISE
Exercise should be sufficient to create a sweat, but not sufficient to make you gasp for breath or feel over-tired. About one hours exercise every day is best.
DEBUGGING
There are various theories about how bugs create cancer.
Hulda Clark suggests that parasites are the cause, and that they can be disposed of by using a zapper.

do you know the effects of it? the potential dangers? etc.
any information will be greatly apprechiated =)
Answer: Go to:
http://www.gardasil.com/
I have had 2 of the shots already (u need 3), with no bad reactions. It is very expensive (I am in Canada - about $175 ea). But in Australia it is free for school students and soon for women up to 27 years of age.
Question: cervical cancer question......? well i was diagnosed with the pre cancer of the cervix and my doc said that my immune system will fight it off and there is nothing to be done but take vitamins andhave every 3 month visits...at first i didnt even question this but i have been having pain in my lower abdomen and was just reserching cervical cancer and cannot find anything on just letting your immune system fight it off. should i get a second opinion or am i just being paronoid?? any information would be nice!
Answer: The chances of HPV infection causing full-blown cervical cancer is something like 1-in-1000, so your doctor is probably right to say that your immune system will fight it off. But you need to have a colposcopy (if you haven't already) so they can do a biopsy to accurately determine just what stage of "pre-cancer" you have -- some require minor surgery, others can just be monitored every few months, as your doctor is doing. If you haven't had a colposcopy yet, you might want to get a 2nd opinion, but without actually reading your Pap smear pathology report I can't give definitive advice.
Email me with further questions if you like, especially if you get a copy of that report.
Oh, and the abdominal pain is almost certainly unrelated. Cervical cancer isn't painful until the advanced stages.
Question: Could I have cancer already? Hey. I just got a call from my ob yesterday and found out that I have hpv. It's a high risk strand which they said could cause cervical cancer. I was thinking back and the earliest I could have possibly been infected with it would have been 1 year ago, but apparently it has already caused abnormal cells in my cervix. The nurse was even saying I could be in the early stages of cancer right now, but I don't see how that could have happened so quickly if I haven't been infected for very long. They have to go in and examine my cervix and see if they can find anything, but because I'm pregnant right now they can't do it until I'm 24-28 weeks pregnant and I'm only 14 weeks right now. I'm so worried. I'm only 21 and don't want to have cancer!! Does anyone have anymore information that could help me out? I'd really appreciate it!
Answer: yes it can happen rather quickly, however a lot of women that have the abnormal cells will not end up with cancer
Question: if you were diagnosed with precancerious cervical cancer six years ago and have PID can it cause cervical canc six years ago i was diagnosed with pre cancerious cells and 2 years ago i hade a tubal liagation and the doctor left a 3 in. long 1 in. round sergical tool in my cervix for 4 days causing a sevear case of PID( cronic reacuring acute ) and one day an emergancy room doctor looks at me and asks me if i have cervical cancer and that scared the poop out of me. so im basically wondering that if PID can speed up the process of cervical cancer, whell last i knew six years ago it was pree cancerious cells. i have no idea i cand get a doctor to help becides an emergancy room dr. not even the health department for some reason, so if anyone has any information about any of these illnesses pleas notify me, every little bit will help. im out of ideas and dont know what to do and quite frankly am in a lot of pain which i admit is kind of scarry seens i dont know what is going on so any information anyone hase on cervical cancer or PID will be so helpfull. thanks and sorry fore the bad spelling.thanks
Answer: PID occurs when bacteria move upward from a woman's vagina or cervix (opening to the uterus) into her reproductive organs. Many different organisms can cause PID, but many cases are associated with gonorrhea and chlamydia, two very common bacterial STDs. A prior episode of PID increases the risk of another episode because the reproductive organs may be damaged during the initial bout of infection.
Sexually active women in their childbearing years are most at risk, and those under age 25 are more likely to develop PID than those older than 25. This is because the cervix of teenage girls and young women is not fully matured, increasing their susceptibilty to the STDs that are linked to PID.
The more sex partners a woman has, the greater her risk of developing PID. Also, a woman whose partner has more than one sex partner is at greater risk of developing PID, because of the potential for more exposure to infectious agents.
SECONDLY
cervical cancer is caused by a form of HPV another STD not PID
THIRD
PID can be cured with several types of antibiotics
Question: Persistent irritated cervix? At a recent annual pap smear, I had been diagnosed with chronic cervicitis. The nurse informed me as soon as my cervix is touched it bleeds and a pap smear is not able to be done (although I do NOT bleed as being on my cycle). I feel fine and my cycle has never had any problems and is always on time. I did not get much information from her as this was not an ob-gyn clinic, but am nervous that something serious may be wrong. I hope it is not cancer or a sign that I will not be able to bear children. Does anyone have an information or experience with such a condition? Any info would be great!
Answer: Just means your cervix is inflamed. The cervix is a highly vascular part of your body. So like your nose it can bleed very easily when rubbed or bumped...when it is highly inflamed/ irritated.
This can be a serious situation that may be secondary to other problems....infection/sexually trasmitted disease to name a couple.
I would advise you to make an appointment with a trusted OB-Gyn in your area and have this followed up...And yes lots of Dr's will reschedule your exams for this...You don't want to be poking aroung an inflammed bleeding cervix. It will only make it worse..
Note: Pain receptors and vascularity of tissue is in no way related . Vascularity refers to blood flow to a particular area.
Hope this helps.
Question: Why might I have uncomfortable feelings in my lower stomach? Last month I was diagnosed with the HPV Virus. They said that it had already developed cancer cells, and I may have cervical cancer.
How does someone tell you that and not make an appt for a whole month! I have an appt but not until May 10th, and I have recently (the last few days) been getting cramps... Not really painful, but uncomfortable. Where is your cervix located from the outside of the body... The lower stomach? I looked up HPV and read about it and I have all the symptoms of this virus, including lower back pains (which is also happening as a result of this uncomfortable feeling).. Please give me some information, personal or otherwise. Thanks!
It gets worse after I urinate or when I sneeze.
Answer: in the dr office i work in we try to have people come back for a coloposcopy in about 3 or 4 weeks after an abnormal pap smear when the hpv has been detected.i am not sure if that is what you are having or just another pap smear which are both possibe depending on you dr. i think the cramps are unrelated to the cervix. maybe your nerves about the upcoming appt or an infection, vaginal or urinary. your cervix is attached to the bottom of your uterus which is in the far back of your vagina. this whole hpv thing is scaring alot of people who don't know much about it. the only people who are developing a serious cervical cancer are people not going for their pap test and not following up to abnormal paps. most women have hpv and don't even know it. you can have an abnormal pap and it may resolve itself do to irritation that was present at the time of your pap smear. your appt is coming up and they will answer all the questions you have. maybe ask you dr for more information about cervical changes and hpv. i know you will be fine take care.
Question: anyone who can give me the best/most information, Please help I'm Scarred ? ok first of all I'm 18 and have a 2 year old daughter, I know i had her young, but that's not what i'm asking about, I recently went to the Gino, and they called me and told me that my cervix had shown some change, so they told me it was either just some inflammation due to and infection or it could be HPV, they want me back in a month to do some test with a microscope i forget what she called it, but its to see the cells and to see what exactly it is, I was just wondering if any one could give me any information about all the strands of the hpv virus, or even websites to point me in the right direction to look it up for myself, I didn't tell my boyfriend this morning because for one i don't know how and for two he is a corrections officer and he doesn't need that kind of distraction at work, I just want more information before i tell him, and so i can at least know what to expect and maybe put my self at some eases, (stuff like how you get it, what all they do, besides the cancer part i already know that, just any other information I would greatly appreciate this)
thanks YS, we had sex the night before my test, also i had been tested they year before and had no bad results and i have been with my boyfriend then, could it have just been that we had sex before the test,
i just dont have any reason to suspect hpv,
Answer: http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/default.htm
this web site is very informative.
however, please don't panic till you get your test results ready from the test.
when i was 19, dr. found abnormal cells after performing a routine pap exam. what they didn't tell me that the test results can be wrong if i had sex 24-48 hrs before the test was taken ( that's just 1 of the reasons for wrong results). i did biopsy and was told that everything is ok. i am 32 now, have 2 kids and never had an abnormal test since then. ask you doctor about gardasil ( sorry don't remember the correct spelling) injection. also, i want you to know that you get HPV from man. They don't have any symptoms and don't even know they might transfer this to other woman.
good luck to you and please dont worry. this is not the end of the world and i guarantee that you have no cancer.
enjoy your baby-girl.:)
Question: anyone who could give me the best/or most information, please help I'm scarred? ok first of all I'm 18 and have a 2 year old daughter, I know i had her young, but that's not what i'm asking about, I recently went to the Gino, and they called me and told me that my cervix had shown some change, so they told me it was either just some inflammation due to and infection or it could be HPV, they want me back in a month to do some test with a microscope i forget what she called it, but its to see the cells and to see what exactly it is, I was just wondering if any one could give me any information about all the strands of the hpv virus, or even websites to point me in the right direction to look it up for myself, I didn't tell my boyfriend this morning because for one i don't know how and for two he is a corrections officer and he doesn't need that kind of distraction at work, I just want more information before i tell him, and so i can at least know what to expect and maybe put my self at some eases, (stuff like how you get it, what all they do, besides the cancer part i already know that, just any other information I would greatly appreciate this)
Answer: There are about 100 strains of the virus, 13 high risk and 2 low risk. 70% of us are infected, which means that your boyfriend has it too and he could have been the one who infected you.
You get the infection from unprotected sex, both oral and genital. Ideally we'd all have the vaccine, men and women, boys and girls, because it can cause cancer in men as well. For you there are a lot of options, LEEP, cyrosurgery (freezing the effect tissue off), conization.... lots of options. Most preserve your fertility and since you did the right thing and saw your Gynocologist each year you have a better chance of eradicating the virus or minimizing problems before you need to loose your cervix entirely, and/or your uterus as well. You did nothing wrong other then have unprotected sex and not getting the vaccine - all of us are susceptible as we also have unprotected sex (we're parents and want more kids).
Question: Pertaining to Cervical Cancer...? Okay, so my mom goes to visit a gynecologist annually (around every April to be precise) to check for anything cancerous in the ovaries or cervical areas. Now, the past two year, everything has been fine. Well, sort of. For the past two years, there has been one cyst in her cervix (making a total of two in the past two years), and has gotten it removed each time. I've read up on the risks of ovarian cancer... Is it possible she might have it and not realize it? I've told her to get her ovaries removed, but she won't listen! Hopefully next year she might if these small cysts keep coming back. IDK.
Still, it's scary for me, and it begs the question that perhaps there's more to this than she's telling me? Maybe she has to get annual removals of these cysts? Anyone know how to help!?
It's scary, 'cause this cancer is really horrible and takes away A LOT of LIVES... Even one is one too many. I'm just worried about my mother, I don't want her to die 'till she's in her 80's - hopefully longer - you know???
Thanks in advanced, you guys! Hopefully you guys can provide me with some general information?
-Rob! lkjlol;kj'khlh
Answer: OK I have read the advise from other people here and it is good. The one thing that I would recommend that you tell your mother is that she request a transvaginal ultrasound be done when she has her next pelvic exam. This can help the doctor acutally see the ovaries and any abnormalities or any growths on the ovaries. I had this done because of a partial hysterectomy I had to have (removal of the uterus and in my case my cervix but not my ovaries) he wanted to see what they looked like and to see if he possibly wanted to get them out as well if they did not look good. Personally, I think women over 35 should start having this done as part of an annual physical. They stick a thin probe, (like a 4 inch dildo sorry for the description) it is not painful, and they can look on a screen next to them and get a view of the ovaries. My doc had the machine in its own room at his clinic. Insurance probably won't pay for it, but I do know they can code it in a way to get reimbursment for it. So just an idea
Question: can anyone explain vaginal prolapse to me in less medical terms? (dropped cervix, swollen vagina)? im only 16 and way too embaressed to tell my mother nevermind go to the doctor. but i noticed that there was a lump blocking my vagina, which i researched and thought my cervix had dropped but then i noticed that the hole inside of my vagina was tight and seemed swollen. it isnt sore or painful when i pee but i am worried that it could be something more serious.
the word cancer kept creeping up when i was looking on wikipedia which really got me worried.
please help explain what it feels like or any other information about it really in less medical terms?
please help?
Answer: First of all, it's probably nothing. Researching stuff on the internet can sometimes help, but normally it just freaks you out and you end up self diagnosing yourself with a million different things.
The chance of you having cancer at 16 is incredibly, incredibly small.
If you're not turned on, you vaginal wall shuts. This means that, if you try and put your finger inside your vagina, you will feel tissue. It's not a growth- it's normal.
Vaginal prolapses are fairly rare. Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't change after a month (and is still painful) go and see a doctor.
The internet is not a valid alternative to a trained professional
Question: What are my chances or cervical cancer at 35 weeks pregnant? About 4 weeks ago, the ultrasound technologist found a mass in my cervix. She had no clue what it was so she called my ob in to the room. They both stared at the mass and had no clue what it was. The doc said, don't worry it's probably a benign mass. BENIGN?? I was not even thinking about it being cancer. She decided to a follow in two weeks, by physically looking in to my vagina, but when the two weeks came by she decided to do an ultrasound in 4 weeks. I am so worried as to what this must be. I have looked in the internet and there are a few possibilities, a cystocele or a cancerous mass.
FYI: I did have hpv but it was like 4 years ago but it went away and nothing had to be done.
If you can shine a light in to my problem, just something that can calm me down because 4 weeks is so far away. Please share your information with me if you have been in a situation like mine or if you are an RN, NP or doc. thank you for much, it may put me at ease.
I have had a pap smear and everything was fine!
Answer: The fact you are pregnant has little to do with your chances for this being cancer. If you had a normal pap smear in the last year or so, it is not likely, as most cervical cancers do not progress this quickly. Was there a reason they were doing a transvaginal ultrasound at this stager in your pregnancy? If she doesn’t know what it is this time insist on having an ultrasound done in a hospital where a radiologist can read it.
Question: what should i do (serious question and problems)? ok here goes. im a 24 year old male that has been in a relationship with a 30 year old female for about 2 months now. me and heather get along great, but i was going through some paperwork at her house looking for her birth certificate and i found 2 bits of information that really bothers me.
1) HEATHER HAS CERVIX CANCER AND HAS HAD IT FOR OVER 2 YEARS (SHE JOKED AROUND ABOUT IT BUT NEVER CAME OUT AND TOLD ME STRAIGHT FORWARD THAT SHE HAD IT)
2) HEATHER IS 3 MONTHS PREGNANT BY A FORMER BOYFRIEND THAT SHE HAD BEFORE ME AND HER GOT TOGETHER.
heather never actually told me about any of this and i dont know what to do. i mean do i just leave her for her lack of honesty? i want to be there for her and i love kids, and most of all i really do love heather. she is a great person with a huge heart and a smile that can brighten my dullest and darkest days. now i love kids and i dont mind being there for any kids. i have a 2 year old son of my own, in which i have full custody over. i have tried to talk to heather about it but she just cries and tells me not to worry aboit it she is dying and nothing will change that. what do i do? do i leave her to the wolves or do i stick around and be there for her no matter what and help her raise a baby that isnt mine? this is a very serious and real question and please give me your best advice
thank you
Answer: My best advise: You're very young. You don't think so, but you are. That's ok. And it's very admirable that you are willing to take on all the responsibilities connected with his new found information. I don't know if it's your youth or your maturity that's exhibiting such bravado. but that is a bit beside the point. You must tell her exactly how you feel. You must tell her how you obtained the info about her health, etc. You must do this immediately. She knows that she is dying and doesn't want to die alone. That's probably the reason why she kept all a secret. It's obvious that you love her. And you want to do the best for her. Do what's in your heart.
