Question: Would like information on colon cancer Because some blood work showed that I'm anemic (never have been before), my doctor wants to do a colonoscopy and a endoscopy. I'm completely freaking out wondering if he thinks I might have colon cancer or something. I've not seen any blood when going to the bathroom, but I know that doesn't always happen. If anyone has any information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Answer: If he really thought it was colon cancer why do an endoscopy at all?
If being anemic is your only symptom, I doubt he thinks you have cancer he probably has no diagnosis in mind at all as there is no information to base one on. He wants the tests as he suspects you may be bleeding internally and the tests are needed to see if the reason and location of the bleeding can be found. Bleeding can be caused for numerous reasons and cancer is only one of them.
The link below will give you information about colon cancer.

Question: colon cancer? My mom has had colon cancer for 6 years. I was just curious as to what is the percentage of those who survive and those who don't. Please, dont be afraid to be honest. It is something i have had to deal with for almost half my life, I'm 16. Thank you and any extra information would be great.
Answer: Statistics do not mean anything for an individual fighting cancer . .the reason is because . . in most cases there is a chance that the patient can be one of those survivors . . . even if it is only a 20 percent chance . . that is still a chance.
So, it is impossible to predict what the outcome will be for your mother . . even a doctor can not make that predicition . . try to recall all the times someone was told by his doctors that his cancer was terminal or he wouldn't live more than six months . . and they all beat the odds by surviving.
In general, her surival will depend on her age, her overall health, the location of the tumors, her response to treatment, the grade, and the stage of the cancer. If your mother has had her disease for six years . . than she must be taking treatment for it . . .as long as her disease continues to be under control . . than the better chances she will have. In many cases now the attempt is to control the disease with medication . . I don't know if your mothers cancer responds in this way .. but some types of cancer a patient can take daily medication to control cancer growth (much the way a diabetetic takes insulin to control diabetes) . . for some patients this works, for others it does not. But it is a good chance to take while waiting for newer research and treatments to become available.
Best to you and your mother . . . there is always hope.
Question: Are there any cancer charities that are very generous to colon cancer support and research? I would like to give out donations as favors at my wedidng, and since my father died of colon cancer I would like to find a charity that supports this cause.
There are many breast cancer charities, but not many for other specialties. Please provide sourcing if you can so I can verify that information is correct!
Answer: www.bowelcancerresearch.org
Question: If you have stage 1 colon cancer how long does it take to get to stage 2? other information as follows according to this weirdo doctor I don't have colon cancer , he told me Im just simply too young. I have all the symptoms though and I plan to go back and demand a camera inspection or whatever it is called and I'm 26 y.o.
Answer: Nobody can give a clear cut answer to this cause it's varied. It's depends on the cells mitotic activity and apoptotic rate. And nobody can give you answers simply by reading the question. We can only guess or tell answers according to experience in which it can't be rely on cause everyone is different.
Question: Signet Ring Carcinoma in Colon Cancer? Where can I get information on Signet Ring Carcinoma in Colon Cancer. I understand that this is not a common cancer. I am interested in survival rates, return of the cancer following surgery when no lymph nodes were involved.

Question: What should I eat daily after I discovered I had sigmoid colon cancer? I had discovered that my body found a 2.5 x 1.5cm tumor lies at the junction of the mesenteric and antemesenteric surfaces. It lies 2.8cm on one end and 4.8cm on the other end. The main cause of this tumor is according to what I eat daily in the past. I can't keep my old recipes anymore. What are some healthy food that I can eat daily now? The doctor said I should eat only vegetables without seasonings. Can anyone suggest me some information?
I am at the stage between level B and C. This was found 1 month ago. I live currently in Vancouver. I had already did a surgery on it.
Answer: Here is some helpful info on cancer and living longer.
Question: Colon Cancer? Can You tell me if the size and Mass it has spread is cureable? My Father in law was just diagnosed with Colon caner. They said it is the size of a dime and has spread 25 Cm. That is all the information i have gotton but can you tell me if that is stage 1 or if it has spread to far?
it is the size of a dime but the Mass has spread 25 cm
Answer: My father passed away from colon cancer. It is really hard to determine the stage from the information you have given. I can say, that colon cancer is very treatable. They Generally will remove that area of the colon. Sometimes there might be life changing things that your Father in law might have to make, or even live with a 'bag', but there is a chance they might be able to get the cancer.
My prayers are with you.
Question: Dad died of Colon cancer, curious what it was like.? My dad died of Colon cancer when I was 6 years old (I think he was probably around 45 years old but I'm not really sure.) I don't really remember anything from that time because I was so young. I'm just curious what the symptoms of Colon cancer are and what chances of survival people have. Sorry I wasn't able to give that much information...I don't really know that much. It would mean a lot to me if anyone was able to give me any information on it.
Answer: Hello Katie:
I am sorry your dad died before you got to know him.
You both missed out on a lot of wonderful times.
I survived my colon cancer. There were times where
my lower abdomen hurt. And there were times I passed
blood in my stool. Mine was caught early enough that
I was sure I would make it ok. I was with my step
grandmother when she died of it. I remember her last
minutes I told her I loved her she nodded than she took
a deep breath and let it out and died with a smile on
her face. I know she knew what I said and I know she
loved me too. I was a nurse at the time so I took care
of her till she passed away. She was in pain a lot so
I gave her the medication that the doctors said to give
her. She got to where I had to puree her food to feed
her. And every thing was liquid. I would take a little
taste while making it to be sure it was tasty not yucky.
She got a lot of Love. A lot of good care. This is what
I think every one should have at there last days. The
people who love them taking care of them.
My daughter was 4 years old and she remembered the
love of grandma mame. This is the good memory's that
children should have when there grandparents die.
Again I am sorry for your loss and I hope you never get
colon cancer. or any other types.
