Heart Cancer Symptoms
Question: Are there silent heart attacks?Or are there always symptoms? I am having a disagreement concerning this matter and need your worthy opinion.Do people always know when they are having a heart attack , are there symptoms or does it always creap up silently? Is pain in the left shoulder blade and heaviness in the left arm more a symptom of heart attack or cancer?I know it can be anything but please decide and help me to settle this matter.
Answer: some people have no symptoms, maybe it occured in sleep or they truly didn't feel anything. there is also often confusion as to whether it could be heartburn. .
Question: Is there such a thing as heart cancer? If there is, then what are the symptoms.
What are the symptoms for lung cancer also, and breast cancer.
Thanks~
Answer: heart cancer is EXTREMELY rare, since it's an organ that is always in motion (pumping), therefore any dissemination of cancer is not likely to end up in the heart. It's the last organ to ever get affected in cancer.
breast cancer is common in women. symptoms are: first of all, a lump should be felt. also "piel de orange" skin, which means, skin that looks like an orange peel. and thirdly wrinkles on the skin surface with unevenness.
Question: Heart condition? Lymph node? Cancer? Nothing? Here are my symptoms? Months ago I developed a cyst in the middle of my forearm about the size of a pea, it does not hurt, but feels solid, the doc said its not a ganglion just a regular cyst, the doc also said i have low blood pressure. From time to time i get dull hollow aches in the back of my head, in the morning i sometimes have itchy spots on my neck and lymph node area that raise, itch and then vanish later in the day, i dont have much of an appetite, i feel anxious and irritable or very happy and grandiose, my period only seems to last two or three days instead of its usual 5 to 7, and i get occasional vertigo and lose my balance, last night i had a gushing nose bleed that woke me up...general practitioners seem to think im fine, but all these symptoms seem like they could be linked, im 28 years old, advice on what tests i should have done? Serious answers only :(
Answer: Did they check your thyroid? check out symptoms of hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, -
Another thing check out pituitary tumor on web search
Question: lung cancer how long before symptoms show? my dad was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer end of feb 08. symptoms started begining of february. he was paraplegic and ex smoker gave up 4 years ago. he also had heart attack end of august 07. some say that cancer is dormant before it forms a tumor and my question is do you think cancer was there before the heart attack or did heart attack change something for the cancer to start.
Answer: Small cell lung cancer is very aggressive and grows quickly. I don't know of any cancer that lays dormant, but some cancers are very slow growing. Cancer can develop years before symptoms are discovered but in the case of small cell its not likely. As far as the heart attack goes, its difficult to say but I am sure they would have done xrays and scans when he had the heart problem, if the cancer was there at that time, they likely would have seen it.
Just to add to this a bit.. chemo is often quite effective against small cell.. not to give false hope but if treated aggressively it could add time onto his prognosis.
Question: If I had cancer (with no other B symptoms - just swollen lymphnodes) would or could it affect my heart rate? my heart has been beating very hard (28yo female) for over a week for no reason, it never stops beating hard and sometimes feels like a bad pressure in my chest. I am having a mamogram for a lump in my breast and some swollen lymph nodes that I should have had checked months ago....where could it have spread that would bother my heart?
I haven't been worried at all really. I have none of the " risk factors" I was just curious as to what could be causing that "full, Pressure in my chest.
Answer: depends, which lymphnodes are swollen, armpit lymphs or lymphs superior to the breast. you don't have any of the other symptoms of cancer, so I wouldn't be too worried. as for your increase heart rate, wollen lymphs will not affect your heart rate, its problably stress, try mediatation.
and for the pressure in your chest, try some tums.
Question: Please share the final symptoms for pancreatic cancer? Pancreatic Cancer is unimaginably horrid. My sister-in-law was dx Jan 31, 08. Stage IV, DVT complications, has stent,
2nd tx of chemo this week, at home, taking oral morphine, not eating, fatigue, very weak, can only take a few steps before tiring, sleeps most of day, not interest in talking, .....this discribes what I observe. It's freightening. Can you share what to expect in the final days? Heart felt thanks, cc
Answer: First I am so sorry for you and your family. Unfortunately, a lot of the symptoms you are seeing already are similar to those seen in the terminal stages, however, they could also be due to her chemo. Things that would suggest she is taking a turn for the worse are yellow skin & eyes, extreme confusion/doesn't make sense when she talks, itchy skin, spread of the cancer, no bowel movements, internal bleeds, heart problems, shortness of breath, & uncontrolled pain/doesnt't respond to oral meds.
The best predictor of how she's doing is what her oncologist tells you even though she may look bad. Hang in there.
Question: I'm only 21 years old! I have some symptoms of colon cancer. Is it possible for me to have colon cancer? Here are my symptoms:
-anal bleeding. The first day I started bleeding, there was a lot. The 2nd day, not so much. Now it's the third day and there is nothing.
- vomiting. The first day I started bleeding from my anus, I was also vomiting, but I haven't since then
- my bowel movements are always different now a days. For the past year I've been pretty constipated when I go to the bathroom. Now it's a mix between constipation and slight diarrhea.
- I sometimes get sharp pains in my abdomen. They only last for a second or two though and they're not very often.
- heart burn, this has been happening for about 8 months (I'm not sure if this is a symptom of colon cancer, though)
- the sensation that I have to make a bowel movement, but I don't really have to.
I'm a 21 year old female and I'm kind of nervous! Does anybody think that I could definitely have colon cancer? I have a doctor's appointment scheduled about 2 weeks from now, but the wait is driving me crazy!
update since I posted this question last: There is no more signs of blood in my stool (none from wiping or that is turning the water in the toiltet red), but now my stool is green with green mucus. Another symptom of colon cancer? Or something totally irrelevant ? I'm not sure, does anybody else know?
I have a Doctors appointment on the 6th, but I just want to get other people's opinion while I'm waiting.
Answer: Celiac disease can cause those symptoms. It's way more common than colon cancer. Heart burn is a very common symptom. Make sure they test you for that when you go to the doctor. It's an easy fix. It's an autoimmune disease caused by eating gluten, so a gluten free diet makes all your symptoms go away.

Question: Rapid heart rate- Brainstem Cancer? My hubby has a glioblastoma of the brainstem. I realise this area controls basic functions and is causing the rapid heart rate as well as shortness of breath. It happens when he does anything or gets agitated. I want to know what to expect and how long this can go on for. I would like honest answers our family has had enough surprises for one year. The doc said it could take him very quickly , I just want to know how dangerous are these 2 symptoms? Thanks.-please state if you have medical qualifications
Answer: I am not a medical doctor; I will pray.

Question: Doctor or Nurse Needed! What are some possible explanations for the multiple symptoms on left side of my body? I'm 25/F Confirmed Diagnosis;I'm 5'6 350,I have; Arthritus (10mg 6x daily methadone),Sleep Apnea,High B.P. (Enalapril 10mg 2X daily),Restless Leg,Asthma,Lymphodema,Hyperhydrosis,Never ending pain in all joints, muscles, jaw. All of following worst on left side; Constant decreased sense of feeling/numbness every where worst from waist to under butt & inner thighs pelvic area,Stabbing/numbness in left back quadrant of head,Phsyically weak MUCH worse on left side.Had blood tests for cancer, liver, thyroid, adrenal, heart (adenesin test),cbc all good results, tests for blurry vision good as well however in dmv test where I had to answer as to which eye the blinking light was blinking in I had problems when it light blinked in left eye when the lights where nearing the middle towards my nose.) The chronic pain I've been told is mostly from my arthritus, however what is the relation of all the left side symptoms? Please offer you'r opponion so I can possibly help point my doc in right direction?
Note I had these same problems even when I was half the size I am now.
To the person that blamed me problems on "over eating"...That really hurt my feelings. You read my weight and assume that I am gorging on food when that is not the case. I have been monitoring my weight and been active in the last 2 years I have lost 100 (this year and the year before 75 with a total of 175lb). I think it is unfortunate that you made these asumptions, and to be quite honest really redicolus as I have never before been told this by any health professional (not even when i was at 525+ lb).
Melvana,Ty for you'r nice responce.I had these problems long before methadose. And before I got perscribed it I never heard of it being given for chronic pain either. However my pain mgmt doc uses it alot.
Answer: Hello..just wanted to say that I have a lot of pain problems like you do and have gained weight myself just from lack of exercize because its too painful. The difference is I have equal pain on both sides of my body and numbness in face and extremeties. Recently, I stumbled upon a condition called "chronic pain syndrome" http://www.emedicine.com/pmr/topic32.htm which is caused by a stroke which is not always detected on mris. Anyway, it usually hits one side of the body. There is nothing to do but control the pain...have you tried a pain block? You can have a shot which is temporary and lasts up to a year and if you like that they can later put in a pain pump. The shot only lasted a month for me and I'm not ready for the pump, but maybe you are.
Question: What are the symptoms of cancer? and can sixteen year olds get it? This is what has been happening to me.
-My heart keeps hurting
-I keep getting food poisoning and throwing up
-I feel tired constantly
-My ribs hurt sometimes
What is this? Does this have anything to do with cancer? Or is it something else? Am I just having minor problems? Thanks.
Also, it's often hard to breathe.
Yeah, I see bruises on me sometimes and wonder where they came from. I just found one on my foot the other day and was like, what??
I do. I probably get sick from the food I eat every week or every other week. I got a rash on my cheeks last week.
I don't live with my mother. I never really told anyone.. these things starting occuring in the past few months.
Answer: Yes 16 year olds can my son was 15 when he got cancer you can alot of symptoms hair starts to fall out throwing up alot easily bruised and like you said being tired if you have most of them then go see the doctor.
Question: If a person had a cancerous tumour in this area what kind of cancer would it be? I had a dream where I had one cancerous tumour in my pituitary gland and one lodged onto the side of my heart that was stopping my mungs from fully expanding. It was causing me shortness of breath. In the dream I had two lots of surgeries, both successful then I had chemo and radiation.
But my real questions is what kind of cancer would you call the tumour in my heart (the pretend tumour from the dream) would it be lung cancer because its close to the lungs or would it be like heart cancer or something because it's attached to the heart? Is there even such thing as heart cancer or would it be called something else?
Also what are some of the after-effects of chemotherapy and radiation? With the chemo I've heard of general flu like symptoms and hearing loss, what else is there?
Answer: Pituitory Gland tumor would be a brain tumor (possibly brain cancer). I'm not sure about the heart.
Side effects:
vision effects, my eye pressure was different after radiation to the brain, my taste buds changed....sudden cravings for chili and baked potatos and coca cola, but couldn't stand dr pepper (used to be my favorite). Sweet, sour, and salty things all tasted very good. Hair loss bc of radiation. Some patients lose weight, but I gained a ton of weight bc of my chemo. I had to go thorugh steroid treatments and avastin treatments bc the radiation caused parts of my brain to swell up. The steroids caused a whole bunch of issues. The list goes on and on. Vomitting, dizziness, fatigue.....extreme fatigue....the cancer doesn't hurt and mine had very few effects, but the treatments are sometimes unbearable.
Question: Is Heart Disease a chronic low grade Scurvy? Is Heart Disease a chronic sub-clinical Scurvy? A low grade scurvy which does not show outward symptoms, but internal damage to blood vessels goes undiagnosed and is termed heart disease when it manifests heart symptoms?

Answer: Heart disease is NOT a chronic low grade scurvy. There are different types of heart diseases, each with a different cause, and some with causes yet to be identified.
Question: 40 small cigars over 4 years = lung cancer? I'm 18 years old. For the past 3 or 4 days, I've been experiencing what I think might be lung cancer symptoms.
I have never smoked much. Since I was 14, I would occasionally have a Black & Mild cigar. I think that I've smoked 40 of these cigars at most during the last 4 years. When I first started smoking these cigars, I would usually inhale. This was a habit for maybe a year. After then, I barely inhaled.
Recently, I've had a cough, a strange froggy feeling in the bottom of my throat that won't go away, heart palpitations, weakness, nervousness, and dull pains in my chest that may just be my imagination.
I've been to the emergency room of a nearby hospital a couple of times, but they only prescribed a asthma medication, Advair, and allergy medication. I would like to be checked for cancer, but I'm unsure who to go to.
I'd like a professional opinion. Time is a big factor. Could this be lung cancer?
About the froggy throat. I find myself constantly trying to clear it. Frem does come up, but not easily. And the froggy throat still does not go away. I also sometimes have an indistinct sort of ticklish feeling in the bottom of my throat when I breath. I'm not sure how to describe it.
Sorry, that's phlegm, not frem.
If you're a medical professional or have experience with these matters, please indicate.
Went to see another doctor this morning. He said he found nothing wrong with my breathing and that my heart rate was slightly high. Took blood and saliva for testing.
Palpitations seem less severe. Starting to feel small, brief pains around and below my chest and in my upper back. I have diarrhea and I'm eating less.
Answer: You won't find many professionals here just lots of opinions.
You'll be fine.
Live life:)
Question: Heartburn-like symptoms? I'm 46, in good shape, not overweight, with no historry of digestive or heart disease or cancer in my family.
For several months, and increasingly in the last 2 months, I've had what feels a lot like heartburn/acid-reflux. About 5 weeks ago, I had a pain in my chest so bad around the esophagal/heart area it felt like I was having a heart attack!
I don't think it's heart-related, but I'm just saying, the pain was that severe.
I saw a family physician twice the last week of August, and he put me on nexium, for 30 days, which I just ceased taking at his recommendation, 3 days ago).
Nexium LIMITED the pain, but did not eliminate it. I still had a dull ache around the esophagal area, although lessened by Nexium. My Dr said if it was acid reflux, that would definitely have eliminated it, so that eliminates that. He also tested me for the bacteria that causes ulcers, and I tested negative for that.
I didn't like taking nexium, it made me feel like I was on the edge of being incontinent, and I had loose bowel movements and headaches the whole month I was on it.
My doctor initially had me on Nexium for 2 months, but said if it wasn't helping after 30 days, I might as well discontinue it.
My Dr also gave me an EKG to test for potential heart problems, and that showed no signs of heart trouble.
He also did bloodwork, and the only bad sign was my cholesterol was 238, which he advised me to get down, and I've almost completely given up meat and dairy to make an immediate improvement in that.
I'm 5' 11", 180 lbs, in good shape, with no physical problems otherwise.
I usually feel indigestion and chest pain/acid-reflux-like symptoms 2 to 3 hours after I eat, and often releive the pain/pressure by pressing on points of my upper pectoralis muscles, and burping (as quietly as I can). I think it could possibly just be gas pain, but it seems my esophagus or something else is inflamed.
I burp, quietly, sometimes 100, 200 or more times. And I don't want to, but it seems to be the only thing that releives the pressure and pain, at least partially. Sometimes I press on my pectoralis points till my chest is black and blue (although not often) to releive the pressure.
I work as a massage therapist, and so have a very physical job. I'm in discomfort, but --so far--- it does not impair my ability to work. Although sometimes I'm at the upper threshold of pain I can comfortably work with.
It often helps me to work rather than sit at my desk, because then I'm flexing my chest muscles, and that relieves and stretches it.
I also feel frequent itching/irritation around my tonsils and the back of my throat, possibly related to irritation of my esophagus.
I've never felt nausea, vomiting or vomiting blood, which I've seen are symptoms of esophagal cancer. My doctor says based on what he's seen so far, he doesn't think it's heart disease or any kind of cancer. But this ongoing inflammation can't be good.
The only other health problem I have is mild allergies, although I'm extremely allergic to mold, and that can irritate my throat and make it burn, especially when air conditioning first comes on and kicks up dust in the vents. And when I'm outside near a canal or other place where mold grows abundantly. But that is largely controllable.
I'm concerned because the chest pain has kicked up considerably in the last 6 weeks.
I'm also currently uninsured, although I make about 30,000 annually and can for the first time in my life afford insurance. I'm concerned if I see a gastro-enterologist, he'll just say "Sorry, nothing I can do, 300 dollars please".
Or if it is a serious medical condition, they'll deny me coverage and say it's a pre-existing condition.
I also have no idea how to find a good insurance provider.
Please advise me, what you think it is, and how it can be treated and eliminated. Thank you !
The most persistent symptom is chest pain, centered around the third rib, just to the left of my sternum, and tightness in my chest muscles on the same point and 2-inch radius around it.
For maybe a year, I only felt it after I ate, about 2 to 3 hours after eating. But the last 5 weeks, I feel it pretty much from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep, more inflamed when I eat.
I notice no symptoms of fatigue or sweating to indicate heart problems. And again, I had an EKG 1 month ago that indicated no heart problems.
Answer: Possibly a hiatal hernia. Please check your local area for free clinics, or go to your church and ask for help. Often they can assist.
Question: Is cancer always found in a blood test. Please see my symptoms? I'm wondering a nurse or doctor on here can help me.
I've been feeling crappy for quite sometime. I had my doctor run a CBC and it came back fine - I have moderately high cholesterol, other than that I am fine. They don't know how to explain my symptoms. Which are (starting from head and going down)
1. Dry eyes - sometimes I see cloudy spots
2. Swollen glands on one side of my neck
3. Always clearing my throat - like I have lots of phelm
4. Sometimes I can't get enough air in my lungs
5. Pressure or burining in my chest near my heart
6. Sore wrists and arms - feels achy and sore
7. Missed period
8. Sore breasts
9. Cold feet and hands
10. Dizzy sometimes
11. Tired
12. Constipation (sometimes and it's mild)
13. Ovary pain once every other week or so
I'm not pregnant. I'm 23 non-smoker and otherwise healthy. IE no known medical ailments
Answer: Sounds like you have several minor, occassional aches and pains like everyone else in the world. If I listed all my little bothersome problems and they were part of some horrible illness, it'd be a lot worse than my piddly ol' brain cancer.
Funny, funny Blair! I see my onco every month and he's not concerned about my little aches and pains. They're just part of life.
Question: I need help with these symptoms? My father is feeling really sick. On Saturday, he started feeling dizzy, while he was driving his vision blurred for about 2 seconds. He then started having cold sweats. This morning he started vomiting. Can this be just food poisoning or a stomach flu? There is no history of heart disease or cancer in our family. Any help is appreciated since we do not have health insurance.
Answer: It sounds like food poisoning to me, try to track down what exactly it was that he ate to see if the possibility is there. If you can't afford to go to a doctor then keep a close eye on him, don't leave him alone, ride it out for a few days and he might get totally better but if he loses consciousness even for a moment, call an ambulance.
