Heart Cancer Treatment
Question: Do prisoners get cancer treatments or heart transplants?? I am just wondering for prisoners especially those long term ones when they get seriously ill... say needing a heart transplant do they ever get one????? or do they receive any cancer treatments?? If not, what if the family offer to pay for the cost???
Answer: Yes in Australia they do.
Which i happen to think is a bad thing. Why save the life of a criminal that has killed, raped or been in jail for 20 years?
No wonder why taxes are so high!
Question: What are the treatments that can be done for the patients suffering from heart cancer? Is heart transplant possible for this?if yes what the conditions that must match and how much does this cost?Is there any way for longevity of life?
Answer: Cancer of the heart is very rare. It’s probably one of the most rare cancers there is. Have you spoken to the doctor about this? These questions should have been answered and made clear to the patient. There is no effective treatment. You should discuss transplant with the doctor as I know nothing about this case, but usually they cannot be done. 80% of these cases have metastasized at diagnosis.
Question: When your DR & your Radioligist disagree about Breast cancer treatment? Put simply my mom has several doctors that have conflicting opinions. She has gotten 2nd opinions and none of the DR's agree on anything. No body even says what stage it is. After 3 mamograms we knew something was up, but they had never said they thought it was cancer. They sent her for a biopsy ( as in the past) but this was not a needle, this was with a scalpel. They did ultra sound, and MRI. She went to a radiologist who said he could not do 8 weeks treatment because it was close to the heart. So her oncologist recomends masectomy. She called the Radioloigist back and told him the recomendation, he said he would not do it if it was him. He said MRI can be wrong, they are so sensitive. He would rather risk heart damage down the road.
Has anybody had to make the treatment decision on thier own, and should they tell her what stage she is in. The biopsy was positive on AUG 1. They say it might be 2 spots and might be in the lymh nodes.
Answer: The radiologist and oncologist have two different functions. Use their advice only for what they are specialized to do. That said, it is clear to me that the oncologist is more qualified in the area that the Radiologist is not. Breast cancer should be treated according to the oncologists advice. Perhaps she should see a breast cancer oncologist. There is a fantastic doctor in Marin County, California. Her name is Dr. Bobbie Head. You could call her office and see if she can help. But then not sure where you live. I am 47 and found two very small Ductoral carcinoma in situ. The positioning was such that I was advised to have a left breast mastectomy if I wanted to be really sure it was all out. I did not hesitate. Best thing I did because when they tested the mass and they found some was actually invasive and had not been detected earlier. I was so grateful I made that decision because three years later it is all gone and has not come back and nor is it likely to.. I had a tram flap reconstruction and I look very normal. I did not need radiation or chemo. BUT remember everyone is different. You should be very comfortable with your doctor and able to follow advice. At the same time it is imperative you do your own investigation so you can accomplish that level of comfort needed to move forward. Al the best. Tell your mom not be afraid, but to take "the bull by the horns."
Question: Could there be a connection between colon cancer treatment and massive stroke? It happened to Gwenyth Paltrow's dad...he had colon cancer, overcame it and then passed from a massive heart attack. The same thing happend to my grandfather. Does anyone else know of a similar circumstance?
Answer: Having cancer puts a person in a hypercoagulable state meaning that they are more prone to forming blood clots. Many cancer patients develop deep vein thromboses and pulmonary emboli. They can also form clots that travel to the brain causing strokes or CVAs and clots to the heart such as a heart attack or MI.
Question: for science class, help about cancer treatment? i've been trying to look things up for an essay about cancer primarily of the heart soft tissue. no one in my family has head cancer so i don't know a lot about it, what treatments do patients have after surgery?

Question: i am 75 yo with anal cancer. i also have a bad heart. i'm starting treatment in 2 days . i would like some inf I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT MY CANCER. THEY WANT TO SHRINK MY TUMOR BEFORE MY SURGERY.
Answer: Sir,
I'm sorry to hear about your cancer. It is standard for then to try to shrink the cancer before surgery. It lessens the impact. If this is your first time with cancer, expect to go throu some highs and lows during the oreal. Cantact a cancer support group in your area. You will find people there with similar problems.
Good luck and may God bless you.
Question: Pediatric heart cancer.....? Can kids have heart cancer?
If so what is the treatment?
How bad is it?
Answer: Cancer of the heart is one of the rarest cancers there are and it is possible to a child to get it. There is no effective treatment.
Question: What kind of cancer would act like your heart is skipping a beat? My girlfriend i was talking about it the other question, the doctors told her she has cancer and she is going to get the treatment tomorrow when she was told she had it today. What kind of cancer could it be, they toold her it was a rare cancer?
I know i should just wait but its hard because she is only 18 years old and i love more than anything in the world
The doctors haven't said what type of cancer she has yet, she it in a coma right know
Answer: I don’t know of any cancer that acts like a heart unless it is arising from the heart. They are usually sarcomas and exceedingly rare. They are also fatal. It is very unusual to be diagnosed with cancer and start treatment the very next day. I don’t think you should wait and these things are too important to guess. Talk to her again fand find out what kind of cancer she has.
Question: Is new policy say that seniors must accept the invevitable conditions that come with old age? Is that the new policy that has been adopted? One analyst says that means Medicare must be cut on the elderly? The socialist view seems to be billions must be cut and the seniors are too expensive. Only the wealthy can get treatment beyond the lowered baseline.
No more expensive treatments like heart surgery, cancer treatment etc. The budget must immediately reflect this policy is what I have read.
Answer: So we elderly are going to be left just to die? Not in America!!!!!!
Question: why Christians require medical treatment terminal illness when all they want is go to Heaven? if they can't wait to die and go to Heaven then why they all flood to hospital for treatment of heart disease and cancer? do they REALLY NOT believe life after death? I am just observing their BEHAVIOR rather than what they preach
Answer: well i think all of them secretly know that they are worshiping a lie and this becomes more apparent when they get a terminal illness and their god wont do anything about it.

Question: Is it true --Cancer to Surpass Heart Disease as World's Leading Killer? what help yoga or any other alternative medicine can do to survive cancer...or only allopathic treatment is best for cancer.
Answer: Yes Very True!
Heart is the strongest muscle in our body and heart has a very good ability to open up new routes for pumping blood in case of mild blocks. Only when we accumulate more fat it becomes beyond its reach. Then we need surgery. Again it is curable if we start treatment within 30 minutes of attack (called Golden Hour) and after treatment one can lead normal life with little care.
But the Cancer is merciless disease and uncontrollable! Unless we are blessed beings of Almighty, we may not be able to fight.
Regarding Treatment I will prefer only Allopathy.
Life is precious gift from Almighty!
While we find disorder in the system we seek remedy and to have the treatment, we definitely need a proven reason for the root cause of problem.
I sincerely feel Allopathy only evolved the precise technique of diagnosing the root cause. Again the treatment is based on the tangible results by testing the method in some animals and only after proving the results, the medicine or therapy is carried out and practiced in Human.
Whereas I doubt the other methods like Siddha, Homeopathy or others do not bring any proof of their medicine. Again in Siddha, heavy metals are used for treatment. The heavy metals need to be calcified at least 1000 times before using it as medicine to have better results without any side effects. Most of the present Siddha practitioners are calcifying only for about 10 times and use it as medicine! This will result in non absorption by our system and the particles will get accumulated in Kidney resulting early Kidney failure.
Hence only Allopathy is advisable in my opinion which has proven the credibility before the world community.
Another Useful information I want to share to Yahoo Community on Allopathy Treatment & Cancer.
I feel it is my duty to bring Dr. Muthu Lakshmi Reddi a great scholar to your knowledge.
She was born on 30 July 1886 in the Pudukottai of Tamilnadu and left the world on 22 July 1968 Madras) (It is believed that she was born to a devadasi)
It is believed that her mother died of cancer and in poverty in Muthulakshmi’s young age.
She is the First Women M.B.B.S. Doctor of India .
She is the first Women Legislator in India . She was M.L.C in Tamil Nadu and became Vice President of House, there by a First Woman Vice President of any Legislative Houses in the world..
She was the founder-president of the Women’s Indian Association (WIA) and became the first alderwoman of the Madras Corporation. Dr Reddy was actively involved with several orphanage homes and women’s welfare organisations, and initiated measures to improve the medical facilities given to slum dwellers. In 1930, she founded Avvai Home, a home for destitute women and orphans at Besant Avenue , Adyar. As an MLC, she introduced a scheme of free education for girls up to class eight.
She was instrumental to abolish devadasi system in India . It is not out of place to point out that, while Rajaji argued in the legislative house that devadasi system should not be abolished by giving some reasons, Muthu Lakshmi Reddi replied Rajaji that if it is required for the society, then let you higher cast people including Rajaji’s daughter can takeover the charges and release the present devadasis amidst overwhelming response of the full house.
She found the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai under WIA a non profit organization. The specialty here is world class treatment free for poor and medium to higher charges from the affordable patients.
Free treatment means, fully free treatment, free food and accommodation for patients and also free railway pass for travel from home town to Hospital for patient and an attendee also. There are patients coming from UP, Bihar , West Bengal etc to Adyar Cancer Institute.

Answer: We now rely on statistically proven medical practice, or what we usually call evidence-based medicine. You can log in acc.org o look at their guidelines.
There are three accepted ways of treating coronary artery heart diseases: medically, angioplsty(stenting) and bypass surgery.
If your disease is mild, medication is the first option. if it gets worse, angioplasty should be considered. Surgery is recommended only for those who arent amenable for medical or angioplasty treatment.
Question: Does anyone knows how much does cancer treatment cost in Singapore? As i'm trying to purchase insurance since I've just started working, I would like to ask, should one be diagnosed with cancer, what is the expected bill that I'm looking at?
I've went on MOH website, and discovered that the average bill is only around $10000 to $20000. However, my financial planner is saying that I need at least $100000. I'm rather confused with these information. Do I really need that much money since the treatment cost stated by MOH is relatively not that significant, but if that's the case, why is it that those critical illness related organisations such as heart, kidney etc are often portrayed by the media that these diseases are extremely costly?
Also, can I know if one can continue to work after being diagnosed with cancer? Thanks!
Does anyone have any idea?
Answer: sounds like you have cancer and are trying to hurry up and get coverage. and if you don't have it, why are you worrying about it? kind of a redundant question.
Question: Are Parents Right To End Son's Cancer Treatment...? This story is heart-breaking and I really have to agree with their line of action. I couldn't imagine being put in the same position. What do you think? Are they doing the right thing?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml;jsessionid=SFGMJYQR5Q4JLQFIQMGCFFWAVCBQUIV0?xml=/news/2008/01/03/ncancer103.xml
The parents of a boy with a rare form of cancer have decided to stop his treatment so the rest of his life can be filled with fun and laughter rather than lengthy hospital visits.
Joshua Ginns, 10, from Derby, who was diagnosed in May 2002 with an ependymoma, a type of brain tumour, has had to undergo a series of intense treatments including three operations, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
The last operation, at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, in August, confined him to hospital for five months.
Answer: Who am i to say whether its right or wrong?
My view for pretty much everything that ties to opinions on life is this: Quality of life over quantity. What point is there to drag out his life if he has a half-living exsistence? Let him live the short remainder of his life surrounded by love and support. Let him enjoy himself and his loved ones memories of his life will be of him playing and having fun, rather then slowly dying on a hospital bed.
Question: Kids pick on my little girl with cancer its breaks my heart :*(? my little girl is 10 years old. Everyone picks on her because she is so small and her wig fell off one day. So friday the kids were throwing her wig around on the playground. She is a beautiful girl and it breaks my heart. she comes home everyday so heartbroken and says she wants friends so bad and said they wouldn't be her friend because she was bald and that was not pretty. it breaks my heart :( what can i do? The school said next time they picked on her there would be consequences but its not fair my baby girl is being picked on for that. What do i do to cheer her up? I'm so hurt with the fact that my child has to go through cancer and treatment but now getting picked on. It's not fair.
Answer: Maybe you could talk to the teacher again and suggest she do a special project so that the other children learn about your daughter's illness. The project could also involve the parents.
We had the same problem in my kids' school and that's what the teacher did. Now the child with the illness (it wasn't cancer) is very popular, and the other kids argue about who gets to push his wheelchair.
I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers. It's a terrible thing to have to deal with as a child.
