Question: Any Information on Final Stage Liver Cancer? Does anyone have any information on what symptoms to look out for in Final Stage Liver Cancer, my mother in law is at the stage where she is receiving palliative care she is still a little mobile though she is struggling with breathing and we have been told that she will have to go into hospital to have fluid drained from her stomach which may be causing the breathing problem, she has just recently started itching all over can anyone throw any light on this issue, any help on what to look out for would be gratefully appreciated
Answer: Your mother is in the final stage so whatever symptoms she is having are symptoms of the final stage.
Question: I need information for the best liver cancer hospital in United State ,please help me , thank you very much?
guys, thanks alot of your best answer , i need miracel from God to help my sister
Answer: People come from all over the world to UNMC in Omaha,NE. They have had successes when the patient was told there was no hope at other facilities. Robert Redford's son had a liver transplant there and he could've gone anywhere. it might be called NHS (Nebraska Health System) now.
Question: Liver Cancer Institutes - I need information regarding institutes which provide treatment for Liver Cancer? I stay at Hyderabad. I was told that the treatment would cost nearly 75 lacs.
The person is a male, aged about 40. The doctors here have lost hopes of survival and have advised to go home. 2 months time is given. Firstly I need information where I can treat this person. Secondly I need information regarding Missionary institutes where the cost of treatment is affordable.
Answer: THIS IS SAD NEWS, I AM HERE IN THE U.S. BUT I CAN TELL YOU LIVER CANCER IS VIRTUALLY UNTREATABLE, AND THE TIME LINE THEY GIVE YOUR FRIEND IS PROBABLY ACCURATE. IT IS ONE OF THE FASTEST MOVING CANCERS. AS A RULE IT IS 3-1 MONTH SURVIVAL AFTER DIAGNOSES. IN MY AREA THERE IS A GOOD CANCER HOSPITAL. IT IS NORTH KANSAS CITY MEDICAL CENTER. THAT IS KANSAS CITY MO. I ALSO HEARD THEY ARE TRYING A VERY SUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE IN GERMANY 2 OF ARE ACTORS HERE IN THE U.S. THAT ARE ON A TIME LIMIT IS GOING THER FOR TREATMENT.
Question: Can someone please explain metastatic liver cancer to me? What is the cure rate? Can someone please explain metastatic liver cancer to me? My mother has this type of cancer. I know that it means the cancer started in her colon and spread to her liver, but I don't know much of anything else...What is the cure rate? Am I more likely to get this cancer because my mother has it? Is it curable? Any information would be great! Thank you.
Answer: Metastatic liver cancer means the cancer started in her liver and spread to another part of the body. Usually the lungs or the bones. What you are describing below your question is colon cancer with mets to the liver. Either one is a stage 4 cancer and is very unlikely to be curable. However, treatment may extend life expectancy depending upon the extent of the mets and if the primary tumor was completely removed. Her oncologist would be the best person to ask. It is recommended that you begin colonoscopies when you ar 10 years younger than the age your mother was at diagnosis.
Question: How can i make my grandmother (who is a liver cancer patient) comfortable for as long as possible? My grandmother has liver cancer and we have just been reported that its terminal. And I really have no clue what that even means. The point is I'm doing the best I can but I feel as though it isn't good enough. I would appreciate any information and input you may have.
Answer: In addition to Lucy L advice, I would suggest you get all of the family together as soon as possible (if not earlier). All too often we dont tell the people we love how we truly feel until it is too late. Let your grandmother know how much she is loved. Take the time to sit down with her and go thru old photo albums and reminisce, and let her tell stories. Make sure the family surrounds her as much as they can to occupy her mind and make her final time her as much of a pleasure as possible. Try to arrange to have a living memorial. Try not to let everyone dwell on the difficulties that lie in your near future.
Question: Nexium does it cause liver damage or cancer? This is a matter of great importance andI need some quick
information for my mother believes that she may have liver cancer
or something even worse because of Nexium. Any answers
regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Answer: Nexium (esomeprazole) is approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
Clinical studies were presented to the FDA in August, 2007, after which they declared it does not cause any risk to the heart, which was the primary reason for the studies.

Answer: It's possible it is anything. But, my money would be on:
1. Meds/drugs/alcohol roughing up the liver
2. Bad gallbladder
Question: what is the new pill that has been discovered for liver cancer in U.S.A? I just read in the news about a new drug called soraphoneep for liver lision and cancer in the united states of america has been tried and now in the market, I need some information about it, and how I can get it .
Answer: Sorafenib (Nexavar is the brand name) is already approved for renal cancer. It's been on the market for that use since 2005. The most recent trial released showed an extension in life span for liver cancer It's an oral med, so I assume a local pharmacy could order it assuming a physician would write a prescription for it.
An important note: it didn't cure any of the cancers, just increased the lifespan of those patients assessed, increasing their life by an average of only 3 months. This is the first treatment that exptended life span, but again, its not a cure by any means.
It also has significant side effects, such as hypertension, rash, multiple skin reactions and moderate to severe diarrhea.
Question: If you have lesions in the stomach & liver, does that mean you have cancer? My dad has been admitted to hospital & has been in for over a week now but he isn't letting on too much information about his condition. He has told me he has hep c & has had that for 20 yrs now, he also has lesions on his liver & in his stomach.
He perforated his stomach approx 15 yrs ago & cut down his drinking habits then but slowing began drinking more with the result of more internal bleeding, leading to his hospital stint. My question is does he have cancer too?
Answer: The medical term "lesion" denotes any irregular tissue structure. It could be scarring, benign growth, or malignant (cancerous) growth.
Your father's doctor will diagnose his condition through medical imaging and other appropriate tests. The doctor will then offer a treatment plan.
You really need to speak with your parents about this matter, but be aware that they may be under great stress right now. Speak with them in a mature and constructive manner that makes you an asset to the family.
Best wishes that your Dad has a good outcome.

Question: How do you get Liver cancer? Do you itch when you have liver cancer? Is there a chance you can still survive? Today we got a call from the Dr and he said my uncle has Liver Cancer. We don’t really have much information how or anything but he had signs such as diary, nausea, weight lost, itching, restlessness and even yellow in his eyes. I was woundering if this is liver cancer. Do you itch when you have liver cancer? Is it to late to cure?
The Dr said his not sure yet his still doing tests but he thinks its liver cancer.
Answer: The yellow eyes would be more of an indication of liver failure (seen in liver cancer) than itching.
There is no cure per se, but if it has been detected early there are preventative measures to prolong life. There are too many factors though, and not knowing your uncles health history and diagnosis, we can't tell you.
Some of the factors include;
Size and verocity of the cancer - is it big, is it aggressive, has it spread to other parts of the body? Is this cancer itself a secondary cancer from something previous like skin cancer.
Risk factors - family history or is it lifestyle related (alcoholism, etc)
There is no cure but the liver is one of the only organs that can function properly after some of it has been removed, so the size of the cancer would dictate as to whether it can be removed safely.
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. If the doctor has said he has liver cancer, he has liver cancer, does it matter about the itching? Clearly yellow eyes would indicate some level of liver failure or liver disease, itching would just be another unfortunate side effect that cannot be attributed to liver cancer alone.
Question: Liver/Stomach Cancer, how long to live? My dad just found out that he has liver/stomach cancer. I am not sure which came first but I believe it is at least at stage 3, possibly stage 4. Can anyone give me more information about this or let me know how long he may have to live? Any comments are appreciated.
Answer: If he follows the typical chemotherapy / radiation route, his outlook will be bleak. This type of cancer is typically due to infection(s) in the mucus glands. There is a product that is being used with tremendous success and it is very inexpensive. If I had this problem I would get this and take lots of it. It was discovered by a Catholic priest in Brazil by accident. He was asked to give last rights to a parishioner that had liver cancer and only given 2 weeks to live by his doctor. The priest did his job and then 3 months later, the parishioner was sitting in the pews and had been working in the fields. The priest found out that the wife had given him this concoction that was being used on the children for years for various illnesses with great success. The priest found out what it was, formulated it and has been getting about an 85% success rate for various cancers and one of them being liver cancer. The concoction has been made into a product now to the exact specifications and is working incredibly well.
It's cheap; very cheap and you can buy the book telling about it on Amazon. "Cancer Can Be Cured" by Father Ramano Zago. You can buy a bottle of this at: (800) 370 - 3447 and ask for Aloe Arborescense. It's about $70 for a bottle.
good luck to you
Question: How can liver cancer tumors be TOO BIG for a transplant? My father was recently diagnosed with primary liver cancer caused by cirrhosis which was caused by hepatitis C. Now, he is in amazing shape, no health problems, no signs of cancer. The doctors couldn't believe his liver was in such bad shape. He has 3 tumors in his liver about 6cm each. I researched living donor liver transplant for days and decided to volunterr to give him half of my liver. For some reason, the doctors at Virginia Mason told him that he is not eligible for a LIVING DONOR( not a cadavar donor ) transplant because his tumors are too big. This makes no sense to me. It seems like it would be the opposite. If the tumors are really big, it's time to get that thing out and get a new one in. The doctor didn't give him the specifics on how the size of the tumors has anything to do with the transplant. He is going to ask them tomorrow, but I need to know now. To me it seems like this doctor is confused as I can find no reason why a transplant would not be an option at this point. I will be contacting Mayo Clinic tomorrow as well. If a doctor, or anyone in this situation has any information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Answer: There is a Dr. Botha at University of Nebraska. He is a liver expert. I never had good experience with Va Mason. If there is anything that can be done Dr. B is the guy to do it.
Question: Help... Liver Cancer? Last week, my relative has been diagnosed with primary liver cancer (have cirrhosis - hepatitis C) . My uncle has passed away from 9 months by the same cause (It is very common here in Egypt). I want to help him but I don't know (I am not a doctor and the medical care information is very rare here)
Are there some organizations in USA or Europe that support the treatment of overseas cancer patients in poor countries with low cost?
Are medical trials ... good option (low cost)?
If liver transplant medically possible (e.g. cancer has not spread to other parts of the body)... How he can find a donor?
Answer: I live in the US and have no idea how your healthcare system works there, but it does seem odd for liver cancer to be common there yet medical care information is very rare. From time to time there are organizations here that will bring children over from underdeveloped countries free of charge to do difficult surgeries they are not equipped to do. However, this is rare and we do not do this for standard procedures.
Our healthcare system has failed millions of our own citizens. Our government has failed us by allowing insurance companies to influence them and by allowing illegal aliens to zap our resources while our citizens pay of it and go without. So until this is fixed we should not encourage anyone to come here to get free or low cost care.
In the US it is not possible for individuals to find their own liver donor. Here you are put in a database and when a match is found and it is your turn you get the liver.
Question: Just diagnosed with liver cancer. What now? I found out today that my step father has liver cancer.
He also has cirrhosis of the liver and Hep C.
The outlook isn't good and I don't really know what to do or say. It seems too negative to even try to be positive right now.
I would like some information on things we can do though. What are good foods to combat things like cancer? I'm not sure what type of treatment he will start seeing as his other medical issues may prohibit some methods, but I don't know much about cancer and I would like some sites if anyone could provide any. Thanks in advance and feel free to give me all the info you want.
Also, I don't know how bad it is, my mom just told me that he was diagnosed and not much else has been discussed.
Answer: Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure his doctors will give you the best and most accurate information. I find doing medical research on your own almost always leads to making yourself feel worse than you should. You should be as optimistic as you can, but wait until you hear from a doctor before coming to any conclusions.
Question: My Uncle is dying from Liver Cancer? My Uncle has liver cancer and has had cancer now for 3 years. It started in his colin and went to his liver. He has had two surgeries in his liver to get the cancer out. He now needs one more sugery. He has been on chemotherapy for the last three years as well. He has a 9 year old daughter and a wife. He can not work due to the severity of the cancer and his insurance will not approve any more treatment. He needs to get more chemo and surgery so he can live 20 more years. My question is does any one know of any insurane plans that would help, any funding groups that would help, or how to raise money for him? Please let me know if you could help with any information. Thank You
Answer: If the treatment is no longer doing anything to help him live, then the insurance company (and probably the doctor) is not going to keep agreeing to it. Just because there is treatment available doesn't mean the treatment will work. This is all very painful and requires the family to look at another way of handling this.
