Pancreas Cancer Symptoms
Question: Pancreas Cancer symptoms? if affect memory? or lost memory?
Answer: Loss of memory is not one of the main symptoms usually associated with pancreatic cancer. I can give you a few ideas, though, of how it could be related. One is that people with pancreatic cancer are sometimes depressed (sometimes even before they get the diagnosis), and depression can affect memory. Another idea is that pain medications taken for the pain of pancreatic cancer could possibly affect memory. Another possibility is that the cancer may have spread to another organ, and the dysfunction of that organ may be causing the memory problems. Hopefully that is not the case.
Those are just some ideas, but of course, this is a question to ask the doctor who knows the patient best.
Question: can any doctor out there tell me symptoms of a pancreas infection or cancer of pancreas?
Answer: Don`t listen to any answers on here, if you feel you have a problem go to the professionals, starting with your GP.
Question: what are the physical symptoms of cancer of the liver, pancreas, and bladder? and emotional symptoms ?
Answer: Liver - Pain in the right subcostal area or top of the right shoulder, fatigue, anorexia, vague abdominal pain, weight loss and fever.
Pancreas - Abdominal pain, anorexia, weight loss, early satiety, sleep problems, jaundice, fatigue, weakness, nausea and vomiting.
Bladder - Hematuria, bladder irritability, hesitancy, frequency, pelvic and flank pain.
Emotional – These three diseases have very different probable outcomes which clearly affects a person’s mental state and because emotions are not a physical finding the symptoms will not be the same in every person.
Question: what are the symptoms of cancer in the pancreas ?
Answer: Pls see link below
Question: what r symptoms of cancer of pancreas?
Answer: Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of death from cancer in the United States. The disease is slightly more common in men than in women, and risk increases with age.
The cause pf pancreatic cancer is unknown, but it is more common in smokers and in obese individuals. Almost a third of cases of pancreatic cancer are due to cigarette smoking. There is controversy as to whether type 2 diabetes is a risk factor for pancreatic cancer. A small number of cases are known to be related to syndromes that are passed down through families
Symptoms of cancer of the pancreas include:weight loss
abdominal pain (This pain is gnawing, and may be relieved by leaning forward. In general, it radiates to the patient's back.) ,loss of appetite, jaundice (Jaundice means a yellowing of the whites of the eyes, then the skin, caused by backup of bile into the bloodstream. The gall bladder and the pancreas empty into the same area of the small intestine, so a pancreas tumor can block-up the bile drainage and force it to backwash into the blood. The yellow-green bile causes the yellowing of the patient, in 1/2 of these cancer patients.). nausea and vomiting
weakness, fatigue, diarrhea, indigestion,… pain,clay-colored stools, paleness and depression. In addition, Bleeding into the intestines is seen in about 1/3 of patients. This may be seen as thick, tarry stools, since blood released into the upper intestine will appear black ("melena") by the time it passes through the anus.Another possible symptom of cancer of the pancreas is
Itching ("pruritis") especially in the palms and soles shows advanced cancer. The pruritis usually goes along with jaundice, from buildup of blood "bilirubin". Pain in the right right upper abdomen area may also be present .Another symptom is that a person's sign might become darker. Also, depression, unexplained for other reasons, may herald pancreas cancer. It is critical for a psychiatrist to realize that new onset depression, especially in the older patient, may presage cancer.
Obviously many of these symptoms are present on their own or exist in relation to other diseases. That is why tests such as the ERCP,abdominal CT scan and pancreatic biopsy are done if a doctor suspects a patient might have pancreatic cancer. At the time of diagnosis, only about 20% of pancreatic tumors can be removed by surgery. The standard procedure is called a pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple procedure). Some patients with pancreatic cancer that is resectable (can be surgically removed) are cured. However, cure rates are significantly less than 50%.
What Causes or Increases the Risk for Pancreas Cancer?
No one knows why any particular person gets pancreas cancer and another does not. However, certain things have been shown to increase the risk of getting it:
1. Cigarette smoking is a factor in over 1/2 of deaths from pancreas cancer. The risk gradually returns to normal after quitting smoking for 5 years.
2.Alcoholism can cause pancreatitis ( inflammation) which is strongly connected to pancreas cancer.
3.Chronic Inflammation of the pancreas from any source, including a blocked pancreatic duct, hereditary pancreatitis, or viruses increase cancer risk.
4. Carcinogens are chemicals that increase cancer risk. Workers in coke plants or those exposure to naptha or benzene get more pancreas cancer. The DDT pesticide is linked to a 7 times increase in pancreas cancer risk.
5. Diet is linked to many gastrointestinal cancers. High fat, low fiber diets may increase risk of pancreas cancer. Caffeine has not been proven to increase risk.
6.Diabetes is weakly linked to pancreas cancer, but pancreas cancer can also cause diabetes.
7. Surgery which has removed part or all of the stomach ("gastrectomy") raises the risk of pancreas cancer by 5 times over the following 20 years.
Chemotherapy and radiation are often given after surgery to attempt to increase the cure rate. For pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed completely with surgery, or cancer that has spread beyond the pancreas, cure is not currently possible and the average survival is usually less than 1 year. Such patients might consider enrollment in a clinical trial (a medical research study to determine the best treatment).
Question: My boyfriend has cancer in his lungs, pancreas, and groine... How can I find out about what the symptoms are?
Answer: Lung cancer symptoms can include wheezing, persistent cough for months; blood-streaked sputum; persistent ache in chest; congestion in lungs; enlarged lymph nodes in the neck.
Pancreatic cancer symptoms can include Upper abdominal pain and unexplained weight loss; pain near the center of the back; intolerance of fatty foods; yellowing of the skin; abdominal masses; enlargement of liver and spleen.
Not sure if you mean prostate or testicular cancer, but prostate cancer symptoms can include urination difficulties due to blockage of the urethra; bladder retains urine, creating frequent feelings of urgency to urinate, especially at night; bladder not emptying completely; burning or painful urination; bloody urine; tenderness over the bladder; and dull ache in the pelvis or back.
Testicular cancer symptoms include pain, swelling, or hardness in the testicle, or some combination of these symptoms, a small, painless lump on the testicle, a "heaviness" in the scrotum, an ache in the lower abdomen or groin, an accumulation of blood or fluid in the scrotum, any change in the way a testicle feels.
Question: What are the symptoms of cervical cancer? I understand it sometimes has no symptoms. But does it ever? Is it painful? The doc says I have cysts on my uterus and ovaries as well as my liver and pancreas and in my breasts. I'm getting an endoscopic ultrasound soon but wanted to know from others' experience.
Answer: the most important thing to do when you are at risk for cervical cancer is to get your regular annual pap smears....EVERY YEAR! This documents abnormal changes in your cervical cells. Your doc could also do some blood tests that actually test for cancer. Good luck.
Question: mestasis symptoms gastric cancer? when cancer spreads from one location to another. like for example from the stomach to surrounding organs such as the esophagus, pancreas, liver, intestines or even the lymph nodes or blood stream are the symptoms that of cancer of the new location or of the primary tumor ?
Answer: I am going to try and answer this but am really not clear on your question. I'll use the example of lung cancer, as that is what I know about.
When lung cancer metastases to the ie: kidney, it would still be lung cancer with mets to the kidney, however symptoms would differ. The primary lung cancer would cause some chest pain (perhaps) and some breathing problems, and the kidney mets would produce symptoms such as jaundice.
Question: A symptom of pancreatic cancer? Does anyone know if fluid buldup on the pancreas is a symptom of pancreatic cancer?
Answer: The only way I can think of to build up fluid on the pancreas is if you have a cyst and that is not a sign of cancer.
Question: Possibly Pancreatic cancer? I have been seeing doctors for a while now. Many of my symptoms are fatigue, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, depression which are many of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer. I also have GERD. I have had an ultrasound done and nothing came up. I am 16 years old, so that kind of lowers my chances of having it. Lately i all my symptoms are getting worse. The nausea and pain in the abdomen, night sweats, insomnia, tired and totally drained. My urine is dard yellow yet i have been drinking normally, and my feces kind of float. i know... kind of gross. I cant concentrate. Moody a lot. Just really fustrated because the doctors cant find anything wrong. My gut tells me SOMETHING is wrong and it just keeps getting worse. I definatly think something is wrong with my pancreas. Should i be worried about the potential of having it and should i ask my Doctor about getting a test? I would be sooooo grateful if SOMEONE can give me any ideas or info.
Answer: Your doctors are not taking you seriously because pancreatic cancer is a disease of older adults. Cancer is often age specific and there are certain types of cancer that 16 year olds are more likely to get than pancreatic cancer.

You probably have something going on but it is unlikely to be cancer based on the symptoms you describe . . . cancer, in general, is painless . . there are no symptoms until the later stages and by than you would know you have cancer.
Go back to your doctor and let him do his job . . you do deserve to feel well, but no one here can help you . . you need a doctor for that.
Question: Can a local tumor in the lung spread to develop bone metases without affecting the rest of the lungs? My father has been diagnosed with non-small carcinoma in the right lung. The doctors also found a lesion in the back bone L4 which is reported as neoplastic. A biopsy on the lung tumor was performed and confirme malignancy. On that basis they are presuming that the bone lesion is also a malignant cancer tumor. However, what seems to be strange is that the CT scan results for the rest of the right lung, the left lung, abdomin, intestines, bladder, prostate, pancreas are totally clear. His oncology blood markers are also clear. The bone scan apart from the suspected lesion at L4 is totally clean, and his blood test results are acceptable. His general health conditions are good. He was on a diet, stopped it and gained 3KGS within a span of 10 days. He simply does not show any of the symptoms of a stage IV cancer patient. The doctors said they cannot operate because of the bone lesion. Had it been only in the lungs they would. We are concerned that they might be making the wrong connection
Answer: definitely get a second or third opinion.. this is too important!
Question: Please help me i can't take it anymore? I know i keep asking the same question but it is all i think about.i am 25 years old, Back in DEC. i had a ct scan that showed hypodense focus on the pancreas that radiologist said it is nothing and wrote on the report that it is most consistent with focal fatty replacement,of course i think pancreas cancer i have another radiologist look at the scan and he said it is nothing. I had a EUS done and that doctor couldn't even find anything he said my pancreas looks normal and to follow up with a ct scan in 6 months which would be this coming june. Well all have thought about is this it has taken over my life how can it show on the ct scan but not on the EUS and the EUS is suppose to be the better test. I can't get the ct scan done sooner because my insurance won't pay for it and i don't have the money. if it was pancreas cancer would i have more symptoms by now its been 2.5 months since my first ct. i feel fine health wise i just want to be happy again and i can't with this on my mind. i have been to a head doctor he didn't help much. please help me what is wrong with me i can't get it out of my head.
Answer: If the results are normal why are you freakin out? Don't worry. Regardless, we're all going to die eventually.
Question: Why did only lymph nodes light up on pet scan, If its not lymphoma? My Mom just had percarditis (fluid around her heart) that just got removed about a month ago. When the percardial fluid was removed they found blood in it, they sent it to a lab and found that it had (VERY FEW) cancer cells. The doctor has said over and over again that she has lung cancer (adenocarcinoma), which just came back negative. She had a PET scan and only lymph nodes lit up and the dr still doesnt believe that it could possibly be lymphoma. I dont understand that if she had any other cancer, why wouldn't have lit up on the PET scan? The dr is now leaning toward pancreas or stomach cancer, which my mother has NO symptoms from either!! Im just very confused. I thought PET scans are very accurate. So please let me know what you think. Thankyou So Much. Chrissy
Answer: Your mom has malignant pericarditis. This emedicine article gives the possibilities of various cancers that can cause this condition. Not all cancer types show up on PET scans. Most do, but not all. My best to you and your mom.

Question: pancreatic cancer concern? My father is 66 and normally very healthy. He had pain in his belly area a few weeks ago and went to see the dr. about it. They sent him for an ultrasound to see if it could have been his appendix. They saw a shadow on his pancreas, said it could simply be a shadow but are sending him for a scan next week. He's been kind of sick lately, like he has a touch of the flu and he's been burping a lot. It could simply be a flu; but what are the chances with those symptoms and this "shadow" in the ultrasound that he has pancreatic cancer?
Answer: A shadow could be anything from a tumor to scar tissue to inflammation to just a shadow.
You're better off waiting for the results of the scan than to assume the worst.

Question: I just found out my Grandmomma has pancreatic cancer and I'm wondering how long she has left? My Grandmomma was diagnosed this past Wednesday with pancreatic cancer. They did a scan and found that she has a soft ball sized tumor that is growing into her pancreas, liver, and digestive tract. The only real symptoms she's had were weight loss and a "hard abdomen". She is going in on Monday to have her stomach rerouted so that she can eat. They plan on starting chemo as well. Needless to say the whole family is devastated. She is taking things much better than any of us are. At this stage of cancer, about how long does she have left? I know there isn't an exact number that can be given, but if you've dealt with this, or know someone who has, any advice would be appreciated.
Answer: My grandma has cancer too and she isnt supposed to have long left ...im not sure how long urs has but i would just spend as much time as you can with her rite now and cherish every moment of it i would also get her in church and get saved if she isnt already and that way you can see her in heaven again......if you need to tlk to someone just email or IM me ill always be here! hope i helped
Question: What can cause Pressure in Head and Miscellaneous Symptoms? Alright from the top: About a month ago I went into the ER because I had performed a self-examination and felt that one of the sides of my scrotum felt larger to me than the other and was therefore afraid that I had cancer. As a side note this intensified after I had worked out extra hard for the first time in about 6 months. They had diagnosed me with a Varicocele and had also noted what they called a benign cyst on the right side after performing an Ultrasound. Therefore, I was much relieved as I got a report of no cancer and my blood work came back normal along with the other normal tests (i.e. kidney, thyroid, liver, pancreas).
However, since that time I have experienced the following symptoms both on an occasional and constant basis:
Occasional
Jabbing pain in armpit
Pressure in Back of Head
Pain in Shoulder Blade
Pain in side
Dull feeling in Groin
Pelvic Pain
Sweating at palms
Constant
Fatigue in legs
No strong desire to eat – do so because I should
Feel hot but no fever – actually temperature lower than 98.6 (i.e. 97.6)
It just seems a little weird to me that all of these started. I was actually running on the treadmill about a week ago and I had to get off because the pressure in the back of my head had built up so much it felt like it was going to explode. My headaches are always in the back of my head now and they do not throb, they are just like a dull sensation. I have went to 5 doctors and they are telling me that I am fine and it is related to anxiety. However, I have not been sick in like 5 years and I know how to separate the mental from the physical. None of them have ordered a CT/MRI and therefore they are going off of the blood work and the ultrasound. However, I am still concerned and it is driving me crazy. Please provide me some guidance!
Answer: Your symptoms don't fit into a category and that is the problem with doctors. Though it doesn't mean you are not suffering. But if the ultrasound abdomen & pelvis, blood tests etc are normal, you shouldn't stress over it. Eat healthy and go for daily exercises to keep fit. You may suggest your doc to get CT done on brain, just to rule out things. Have a second opinion.
Good luck!
