Stomach Cancer Information
Question: stomach cancer information? my doctor told me i may have stomach cancer
i am a 15 year old female
i heard it most likely affects males who are older
could my doctor maybe have made the wrong diagnosis
Answer: Hello Bob.
There is always a chance your doctor made a wrong diagnosis.
Most of us who get stomach cancer are much much older but
I would ask for a second opinion. And Ask about tagament or
a acid reducer to be taken first.
The bacteria in your stomach with it is too much can cause
cancer over time. Stomach cancer does not happen over
night. So ask for more information.
Question: Help with stomach cancer? Hey, í'm wrting a book about changers and warewolves.
And a friend of mine has stomach cancer, he is in terminal phase, can you tell me more about the terminal cancer and information about this? I just want the book to be really believable
Thanks!
Answer: If your book is about werewolves I don’t think it will pass the believable test regardless of what you write and I don’t understand how it relates to your friend having cancer. That aside, you need to be more specific if you want any meaningful answers.
Question: How does H. Pylori cause stomach cancer? I need the mechanism.? I know that cancer can be caused by DNA mutation through radiation and viral insertion of foreign information into a cell's chromosome, leading to programmed uncontrolled growth. But since H. Pylori ( a bacteria) only physically damages the gastric lining, how does it have to do with cancer (mutation at the DNA level)?
Answer: The bacterium causes chronic gastritis and inflammation of the mucosa. This creates free radicals and increased gastrin secretion. It's thought that the free radicals and N-nitroso compounds increase the chances of mutation. The inflammation and gastrin also cause metaplasia and proliferation, further increasing the chances of cancer.
Hope this helps.
Question: Does Maggie cause stomach cancer? I heard from someone that Maggie, the Indian noodles causes stomach cancer, but I'm not sure that the information is accurate. If it does, did they change it so that it doesn't? Just a doubt because it tastes very different now, but maybe it's just me.
Answer: I couldn't find anything about this on the internet. Not in news, not on wiki, not on snopes. If these noodles did cause cancer they wouldn't be able to keep selling them in the U.S.
Question: Project on stomach Cancer? I'm doing a project on stomach cancer. can anyone tell me some information about it? some links would also be helpful.
Answer: Stomach cancer: Cancer of the stomach, the main organ that holds food for digestion. Worldwide, stomach cancer is the second most frequent cancer and the second leading cause of death from cancer. It can develop in any part of the stomach and spread to other organs. It is also known as gastric cancer.
Symptoms of stomach cancer are often vague, such as loss of appetite and weight, so diagnosis is often delayed. The cancer is diagnosed definitively with a biopsy of stomach tissue.
Cancer of the stomach is difficult to cure unless it is found early. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Surgery is the most common treatment. It involves removal of part (subtotal or partial gastrectomy) or all (total gastrectomy) of the stomach.

Question: Cure for Stomach Cancer? My sister is 30 years old and has a stomach cancer. I am desperate please if some one knows any cure, alternative medicine, some information about this problem please write me!!!!!!
Answer: The use of chemotherapy to treat stomach cancer has no established standard of care. Unfortunately, stomach cancer has not been especially sensitive to these drugs until recently, and historically served to palliatively reduce the size of the tumor and increase survival time.
Some drugs used in stomach cancer treatment include:
5-FU (fluorouracil),
BCNU (carmustine),
methyl-CCNU (Semustine), and
doxorubicin (Adriamycin),
Mitomycin C,
cisplatin and taxotere in various combinations.
Chemotherapy also is being studied as a treatment for cancer that has spread, and as a way to relieve symptoms of the disease. The side effects of chemotherapy depend mainly on the drugs the patient receives.

Question: Breast Cancer and Fluid on the stomach, what does this mean? My sister was diagnosed last week with stage 4 breast cancer. She learned about the cancer because her stomach filled with fluid and a biopsy of the fluid revealed cancer cells in the fluid. A mamogram and breast biopsy also revealed breast cancer. We are just sick about this. She starts chemotherapy today. My question is, can the cancer cells in the fluid in the stomach cause the cancer to spread to other organs. Does this mean that she definately has it in her lymph nodes? Is the fluid most likely caused by the tumor draining into her stomach. I am just confused because from what I have read stage 4 means the cancer has spread to other organs. Finally, is there hope for this type of cancer. I can use all the information I can find. That you for your help and time
Answer: Stacy, I just answered this question 2 days ago. I wish you would e-mail me because I know I could help you. Read my answer. You have every right to be concerned and my heart goes out to you because if you read my answer, you know what my own sister went through with. Please, talk to me. Let me help you. There is always Hope, Stacey, always. What a good sister you are.

The doctors want to use it on my husband for his stomach cancer instead of chemo or radiation. What are some wed sights that may help ? Or does anyone out there able to tell me about it?
Answer: RITUXAN:
Rituximab (ri-TUX-i-mab) is a monoclonal antibody. It is used to treat a type of cancer called non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It can be used alone or with other cancer medicines or chemotherapy.
Rituximab is to be administered only by or under the immediate supervision of your doctor. It is available in the following dosage form:
Parenteral
Injection (U.S.)
back to top Before Using This Medicine
In deciding to use a medicine, the risks of taking the medicine must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you and your doctor will make. For rituximab, the following should be considered:
Allergies
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual reaction to rituximab or to mouse proteins.
Pregnancy
Studies on effects in pregnancy have not been done in either humans or animals. However, rituximab is related to immunoglobulin, which affects the baby's ability to fight infection and which does cross the placenta. Women who are able to bear children should use some kind of birth control during treatment with rituximab and for up to 12 months after treatment has ended. Before receiving this medicine, make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or if you may become pregnant.
Tell your doctor right away if you think you have become pregnant while receiving rituximab.
Other medicines
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary. When you are taking rituximab it is especially important that your doctor and pharmacist know if you are taking any of the following:
Cisplatin (e.g., Platinol)—This medicine should not be used at the same time as rituximab because it could cause serious kidney problems
Other medical problems
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of rituximab. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:
Heart problems (e.g., angina, arrhythmias) or
Lung problems—Your doctor will want to check you periodically for heart and lung problems, especially if you have had serious problems in the past.
Hepatitis B virus—Rituximab can cause the hepatitis B virus to worsen resulting in serious liver problems.
High number of cancerous cells in your body or
Kidney problems—You may be at higher risk for very serious unwanted effects.
Sensitivity or a previous severe allergic reaction to rituximab or to mouse proteins—Your doctor should not administer rituximab if you have experienced a previous allergic reaction.
back to top Proper Use of This Medicine
Dosing
The dose of rituximab will be different for different patients. The dose that is used may depend on a number of things, including your weight. Rituximab is usually given by a doctor or nurse in the hospital or an outpatient clinic. If you have any questions about the proper dose of rituximab, ask your doctor.
